High School and colleges start play tomorrow but only some will and others won't, so it will be a mixed up season.
I'm actually surprised that my husband has finally kicked the NFL habit. He has been a Cowboys fan since the late '70s, and watched them last season after Jerry Jones advised the team they could choose to "kneel or have a job." (Jones is a jackass but he made the right "call." Sadly, he is uncharacteristically silent this year so buh-bye.) Professional athletes and entertainers need to focus on what they are paid to do and give up the political posturing. Most of us tuned to sports or movies/TV to ESCAPE from political BS.
Today was the Army/Navy game, and the stands appeared to be full, people stood and respected the flag and the National Anthem, and the whole crowd was cheering our President as he walked out to do the coin toss and open the activities for the game.
Loved the game! And nobody, not a one, "took a knee". My son flew in from Boston to watch the game with me here in Ohio. He's a USMA grad. He was hoping to watch the Buckeye/Michigan game, but it was cancelled. Stay tuned - Buckeyes play Northwestern on Saturday to determine Big 10 championship. Buckeyes are 20 point favorites. GO BUCKS
Buckeyes will play Clemson in the Sugar Bowl on January 1. My hopes are not real high, but at least we made it to the big dance...
