OK, I am fighting with my computer. Long story. But it is causing me to use other computers and foxfire reminded me that seniorsonly.club is not a secure site to log onto. No https: Is this really a problem? to give our email/password out? I am presently on my computer for a short time with my bookmarks etc so I am let on without logging in. You recognize me! ; )
It is not a problem with a forum. the reason that a site needs to be secure is if they are selling something, and will be taking financial information. Since we do not sell anything or ask for financial information, it is not an issue . Also, no one here can see your email, if that is a concern.
If you're worried about the email address, you can always use a throwaway email address from gmail.com or elsewhere. That's really the only thing the forum keeps that could be tied to you. For that matter, once you register you could change your email address to a fake email address if you want to. The retrieve password thing won't work that way, but you could always contact me on Facebook if you need help getting back in.
OK. This exact same problem just started again today. I'm logged on, but if I click the Home button I get the login screen. What the heck? (I have made no changes or updates to my laptop.)
I probably asked this last time, but in the Default version we're using, you're not seeing a Home icon (like a little house) are you? You're clicking on one of the words "Home," right?
I used to be a techie but after 30 years my brain was tired. Now I don't bother to keep up and I freakin' HATE "troubleshooting." My preferred method is to toss the laptop onto the concrete driveway from an upstairs window, then back over it with my car about 23 times.
I watch Crime TV. I've seen some marital problems fixed that way I think they took the phrase "Hit a speed bump in our relationship" a little too literally. Anyway, it's those intermittent issues that are the worse. "Can not duplicate" sucks.
@Ken Anderson -- I think @Nancy Hart is correct and the issue we have is due to the http versus https in the url. I notice that the redirect on that Home button just says "www.seniorsonly.club/" but the redirects on other buttons (such as Members or Watched Threads) have the https. Could you possibly change the url for that Home button?
This is not a new issue-for me at least. And again just now, went to sign in -took three times yet info entered was correct. Also if I do not hit Stay logged in, many times it will not log me in. I always thought it was my slow old desktop-until I got this lap top, and use a different browser.
uh-uh. There’s a gas issue right at this time. I seldom have to fix a computer but when I do, I always use a 22-28oz framing hammer. That said, two story window therapy is always recommended as long as said window is open. Then be sure to box up the pieces and neatly put it on your doorstep for someone to steal. Satisfaction on 3 levels. So far as the “home” button doing strange things, I dunno. Maybe the little guy and gal in that abode is putting a sock on the doorknob and do not wish to be disturbed.
Geezum my i-Mac has not problem like you folks have. Rvrn my Lenovo table doesn't dp strange stuff......May be it's because I'm in closer proximity to @Ken Anderson than you guys and gals.
Wait a minute! I have never seen that Xen Foro screen and I have no home button. I have had log-in issues at times but nothing that sending a psychic message to Ken didn't resolve. On occasion, I will enter my login info accurately just to be denied and receive the message that an incorrect user name and/or password was attempted. "What the hell! I have been banned!" I shout. I then realize banishment would have been clearly stated. So I bang the keys with a single finger just to be denied again. "Get the poo out of your eyes and ears you commie son of a biden," I yell and I toss my laptop from my lap over to the sofa. It is then I hear Ken's voice, "Try again Faye when you settle down and are not so easily offended and dramatic." I try again calm as can be and everything works excellent. I am beginning to think Xen Foro has a feature that evaluates your previous forum interaction and decides if you need logging in to be more difficult. "Do you really want to post, well do you punk?"
