I can get here in the morning after I get up and get my eyes open and get my coffee. Maybe 9:00 Am to wish Kate and Craig Happy New Year. I can eat breakfast, do the laundry, mop the floors, get down cobwebs later, The I can come back later in the afternoon. If I'm going to stay up until midnight, I might have to take an afternoon nap.
I aint a nite owl even on New Years Eve. These days I dont stay up much after midnite to bring in the New Year. Perhaps it may be.. for me anyway..best if we catch you North Americans on your New Years Eve...our New years Day. Or alternatively on each other New Years Day. Sorry to put a fly in the ointment.

They do sell fireworks here for New years too, but we do not go to those sighting anymore. the one from New York will be televised of the big beautiful lighted ball on top of a very tall building will come down at midnight!!, but people will not be allowed to see it live, because of the covid, .. and im not sure i can even stay up that late.. lol....
Same with our much vaunted NYE harbor celebrations gals. Had a chuckle over what was written the other day when it was announced that the Sydney Fireworks were going ahead but under strict Covid security protocols.. which included.. wait for it.. no kissing or holding people close. I kid you not.
In my part of the world they just announced a ban on all liquor sales starting at 8PM New years eve lasting till the next day their trying to curve the partying the backlash should start anytime .
Sounds like a good idea for our NYE Show. A big backlash here too if it was enacted tho. There is a fine line between trying to curb the spread of the pandemic and trying not to curb people's enjoyment. We all know the latter has been in extremely short supply this past year.
