Emerson, Lake & Palmer Pink Floyd Grateful Dead REO Speedwagon Yes Other lesser-known bands that I don't remember. Of these, by far the best was the Grateful Dead, followed by Yes. I didn't much care for Yes albums; I went because my son wanted to go and I didn't want him to go alone or with his friends. They turned out to be a great concert band. On the other hand, I bought every ELP album that came out but I wasn't that impressed with them in concert.
My son came home with Pink Floyd's "The Wall" album and was talking about them as if they were new, and I wouldn't know anything about them. Little did he know that I had seen them in concert, and they were older than I was.
I'm a freak of nature cant make myself be around that many people but I still listen to the stones the greatest rock band of all times Seniors like us.
No, I guess not. I was sure I had been. If I have it was not somebody famous. Probably a college affair. So the answer is no.
Almost none, and they were so quiet they may not count as concerts. (This makes me feel really old.) The Temptations Peter, Paul, and Mary It seems like I went to a Johnny Mathis concert once, but it may be my imagination.
Okay, my memory just kicked in. I did go to one concert. It was Roy Orbison. Many of you may never have heard of him. It was in the oilfield town of Odessa, Texas. We drove from Lubbock to Odessa, a distance of one hundred and forty miles where my wife’s boss had his headquarters. Her boss paid our way. My wife was quite familiar with him. I didn’t know who he was but she wanted to go.
Paul Revere & The Raiders at the old John Wayne Theater at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif.. The Mama's and The Papa's in the same theater during a Rock & Roll Revival at Knotts, that also included The Grass Roots and a few other old groups. Cass Elliott had already died, so Mackenzie Phillips (John Phillips and Michelle Phillips daughter) sang for her. Village People and Chris Le Doux at a local Fair. "Concert Day At The Big "A" (Anaheim Stadium, Anaheim, Calif): AC/DC and two other groups. Didn't have to sneak pot into the stadium. During the concert, the air was thick with pot smoke. Back in 2011, my wife's company had a convention in Denver, CO and and a John Fogerty concert was part of it. My wife seen the original Supremes at the Copa Cabana in New York when she was a teen.
