I saw a couple of Leon Russell concerts; one when he was married to Mary. Also the Rolling Stones in New Orleans. Steve Winwood, ZZ Top, James Brown and the Famous Flames, Bruce Hornsby. I think that's it.
The word in red was probably a poor choice on my part it wasn't meant to offend anyone .I haven't notice any complaints on this forum about F bombs or character assassinations or demining members because of their opinions on certain post. The word in red seems mild compeered to some of the stuff I've been reading but I will refrain from using it again I joined this forum to share my views with others with the hope of learning something along the way. Did you see Leon when he was taking his [adult] daughter on tour with him. This was when he was winding down his career, and apparently was trying to pass the torch. I believe this was a daughter he had with Mary. She's not much of a singer, and people were angry at not getting what they paid for.
No; I saw him earlier in his career. He and Mary appeared at the Houston Summit in the '70s. I have never seen an arena so filled with "smoke."
I just watched that video and realized that it's Elvis Costello playing "backup" harmonica, and Bruce Springsteen on guitar. Sheesh.
I don't know. I wasn't aware that they were touring any particular album, although they may have been. I saw them at the Forum (Long Beach Arena) in Long Beach in the mid-to-late 1970s, I lived within walking distance.
I got spoiled. A former brother-in-law, after spending some years on the road with big-name entertainers as a sound technician, started his own company providing the sound systems for concerts in our area. If the concerts were something we wanted to attend, he'd give us backstage/all access passes. In for free, sit on the stage if we wanted or even climb up the big scaffolding at outdoor venues. No standing in line at the public potties. There was always food and booze around. I haven't been to many concerts since he left the scene. The mere notion of paying big bucks, sitting in the stands and the crowds leaves me cold. I'll go to the symphony or the opera, but it would take The Second Coming of Christ World Farewell Tour to get me to a popular concert.
When I was a teenager, there were concerts in Spokane (about 1 1/2 hour drive from where we lived), and one year there was Buddy Holly and the Crickets, The Big Bopper, Jimmy Bowen. And Buddy Knox. My mom took me and one of my friends, and then after the concert we all went backstage and stood around for autographs on the concert program. They were all some of my favorite singers, except for the Big Bopper; but I really liked the others. I think it must have been in 1958, so the summer before the plane crash.

Wow yes. Probably hundreds. Saw the Dead twice, once at the War Memorial in Syracuse,once at rich Stadium in Buffalo. I think Johnny Winters opened. Saw Jefferson Starship in Blackstone Va. Carlos Santana at Suny Oswego Ronnie Montross Kansas Kiss Aerosmith Lynyrd Skyynrd in Fayetteville NC Saw Charlie Daniels at a pig roast. The tour bus got stuck. Played pool with Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. They were playing Syracuse, but got their hotel in Auburn.. Their hotel was just down the street and across the parking lot from this little hole in the wall bar I used to hang at. My quarter came up and here we were. Didn't recognize him at all until we were sitting at the bar later. Name most any band from the '70's and I have probably seen them
