This thread makes me excited. I just paid the reservation fee this afternoon for our accommodation in the beach resort, this is a new one. As per the website, the rooms look classy and the restaurant is a semi fine dining that is a branch of Max's, the most popular chicken house here. Aside from the beach, there's also a large swimming pool. As usual, we are going with my sister and her family. We timed the trip on Thursday because it's a holiday on the occasion of People Power revolution. And Friday? We are taking a leave from office.
I'll be looking forward to your sharing some pictures here with us. My husband and I go to Fort Walton Beach at least once a year. My soul needs that refreshing!
I love going to the beach. I have a second home in Southern Spain just 10 minutes from the beach. Picture of my family at one of the hundreds of beach bars as the sun was getting ready to set... I have loads of beach photos...I've gotta go out in a few minutes but if I remember when I get home I'll post some photos...
We aren't really "beach" type people and that's why moving back to Colorado is in our future plans. Going into the Rockies and seeing big-racked Bull Elk is our kind of relaxation. Actually, the beach in So. Calif. is more attractive than the beaches here.........for us anyway.
I just love going to the ocean and walking along the beach. When I lived on the Washington coast, it was only an hour or two drive to get to the ocean, and we would go every now and then. The water in the Pacific is cooler than the water in the Atlantic; so you have to be very determined to do more than get your feet wet in that cold water; but it was a good balance in the warm weather. Now, we are much closer to the Atlantic, or even the Gulf of Mexico, both of which are much warmer than the Pacific is; but still way too far away to just drive down to the ocean for a day or two. Bobby and I have talked about taking a mini-vacation down there and go down on either the bus or the train. To take the train, we would still have to take the bus to Birmingham, and then make our way to the train depot. Right now, it is not going to be an affordable thing for us; but something fun to at least dream about doing some day.
I like beaches but I don't like swimming, just like my daughter who goes to maui at least once a year. She packs a bathing suit and cover up for every single day but doesn't put her toe in the water.
If that is you, Holly I am jealous and you MUST leave the forum. If it's your daughter, she's a beauty....like her mom.
LOL...well thank you ma'am...that is my beautiful daughter, people say she looks like me...but she is way more pretty than I was at her age. (she's 40 in April) .....I was taking the picture..
I've not long got home Babs...it's 7pm ..I'll see if I can sort a couple out in a little while..( I literally have thousands being as I have my home near many beaches )... so you may wish you'd not asked to see some..LOL..
Ok here are a few..... This is my husband just musing and looking over the Med in Santa Pola ..out of season when we have the beaches almost to ourselves again with no tourists me watching a private luxury yacht sailing out to sea, with Simon Cowell and friends on it at the Marina in Puerto Banus Spain near where my daughter lives ...wishing I could hitch a lift A tiny part of the aforementioned Marina..
Did you wave to Simon? Very pretty place, Holly! I like that area where your husband is sitting, so peaceful and close to the water yet you don't get all sandy.
