A local DJ, a real wise guy type, who mocked Johnny Cash's accent would introduce it as "Ring of Far."
Gee, who had the most money? hint: It's never the wise guy. The June Carter clan has a foundation & museum right at the Kentucky border here in Virginia. They operate under the organization name of The Carter Family Fold. Our pastor was able to get a band that was affiliated with them (I believe that one of the guys was a distant Carter relative) to do a fundraiser for repairs at one of our churches...June Carter lived here in Louisa County for some period of her life. I was shocked at the following they have. Holy Crap! We got donations, and then the hat was passed to pay the band. They handed every penny to our church...they wouldn't even take gas money. Real good people.
Seems like if I get an "ear worm", it's something irritating like a commercial jingle. I can recall having "It's a Small World" in my head for days after a trip to Disney.
That was my son's favorite ride when he was young and, since I lived in Anaheim, and could get into Disneyland for free (another story), I have been on that ride hundreds of times. As soon as he got off, he would insist on running over to the line to do it again, over and over.
One of my XM presets is the 40s big band station. 3 days ago Peggy Lee was singing Bali Hai over my car's stereo. She's still singing it in my head. dammit. Here. Let me see if I can infect someone else share this with my friends.
DECCA record on a Pioneer turntable. Classic. The sound of that group is so 60s generic. I've never heard of them (and I don't recall that song), but they sound like a lot of groups. Sort of "Mams & Papas" meet "Spanky and Our Gang" at the malt shop. Regarding the theme of that song...kinda pushing the envelope of decency, aren't they???
