What I should probably call a kitchen sink salad. Starts with chopped lettuce and grated cheddar cheese. Then throw in anything I find in the refrigerator that might be tolerable. Today it was a large scoop of mixed vegetables. Thousand Islands dressing. TMI?
I recall the first time I had one of those. It was a place in Fairfax Virginia called P.J. Skidoos, every bit of 40 years ago. There was (still is?) a low-key bare-bones bar area on one side where some of the Redskin players used to hang out back in the day, and a restaurant area on the other. That part was a family-style place, and they had very good food there. For the longest while, I had no idea the Monte Cristo was a well-known sandwich...I believed it to be their own concoction. I've only had it a couple of times...but it is good. Now I want one.
Look good what did it have besides ham @Lon Tanner it looks a lot like it’s been dipped I egg and grilled / fried but looks nice I can’t eat a “full” sandwich I rarely eat a sandwich but when I do it’s one slice of bread so 1/2 a sandwich
Had some of my homemade veggie soup....this will be supper also. I call my soups Leftover Soup...because always different- just depends what was leftover in the fridge.
It's so much better having meals back in the dining room. Todays lunch is a Steak Salad with Yukon Potato/Diced Tomatos/Chives and Blue Cheese. Apple Juice So Good
