That's pretty funny. Gotta keep the [artificial] flow going.

    Change iphone into old phone
Perhaps you think it’s just a base or a charger, but its function may be exactly what you need. It can be connected with iPhone through data line and looks exactly like the old phone, so you can pick up the receiver to answer the phone, do you like it?

I think that iphone/phone conversion is amazing, @Joe Riley ! It has kind of a steampunk look to it, and somehow manages to look very old and very new all at once.

Another thing that I was thinking about last night that always went with the old phones, and we hardly ever see anymore, is the telephone book. I remember that every year, usually in summer, the new phone books would come out, and they would have delivery guys (usually high school kids) out going from house to house and dropping off a brand new phone book.
Now, we just look up the numbers on the internet when we need to call a business that we do not know their phone number. I can’t even remember the last time that I used an actual phone book to find a number, or an address.

What phone books you can find, like today's TV & "noosepapers", they are anemic imitations of the real thing, Their only reason for being, is to carry advertising.

That i-phone conversion story was from 2017, and there were no details.

About 60 years ago we lived in the countryside where we had a dial and crank phone the party line had ten people and if you wanted to call someone on the party line you used the crank and put out their signal. Ours was three long and two short. You would after checking no one was on line use the crank to send out their signal.

How to Turn An Old Phone Into a Mic

"Here’s an unusual excuse for a trip to Radioshack and an afternoon spent tinkering in the shed: Randy Sarafo’s DIY guide to turning an old-style telephone handset into a microphone, published over at Indescructibles. "Capturing the unique audio qualities of the classic, once-ubiquitous carbon microphone, such a device could fulfill all your musicmaking, online gaming and ransom-demanding needs. With quality problems that led to its deprecation from most other uses long before World War II, it's that "shouting into a well" effect that counts!"

"Note that the design will work only with the old-fashioned phones — perhaps because carbon microphones don't require amplification."

How to turn an old Telephone into a hip retro microphone.

Ed & Wendy King also did a "Fright Package" on their show Party line every Halloween, with listeners calling in and Ed & Wendy would tell scary Ghost stories on the air, complete with creepy music and sound effects. (As I remember)
