@Von Jones In spite of the hassles, I still like your pics. So pretty. Snowfall makes everything clean looking. I look at the narrow path in between those parked cars, and wonder what the heck a bus is doing on such roads in the first place. Even on a good day, there's not a lot of room. btw: Last night's temp here was 15' That's very chilly for us, probably our second-coldest day this winter (we might get a couple of nights of single-digit temps each year, although we've not had one yet.)
That was the second time a bus driver didn't make a clean turn in the snow this year. I only become concerned when there is weather like this otherwise the drivers are very good. The county has a bus rodeo competition, or at least there use to be, and you would be surprised how they maneuver through those cones.
Bus rodeo?????? I'd like to see that. I worked in various shipping/receiving environments and have seen the way some of those large vehicle drivers can maneuver buses and trucks better than most people can park mini vans.
Another Mon. coming up and for the 3rd week in a row I won't be putting out the trash and recyclable bins because of snow, assuming that the collecting trucks even get here. Guy who plows the driveway uses a humongous front-end loader with snow scraper in the rear. I mean, he looks like he's 15' in the air. If I put out the bins, he'll just knock 'em over. Good thing that the bins are large and can easily accommodate three weeks.
We had a couple of inches dumped on us last night but it's pretty warm today. I had to shovel the back roof again (I really need to get a metal roof on that part of the house) and the walks, but I got to it before it got too heavy so it wasn't too bad.
We had a slight dusting of 10cms.. Nothing to be concerned about.. They are forecasting a bit more for tomorrow, but I will believe it when I see it.. I hope we get a decent snowfall this time.. Something like 40 or so cms…
We've been getting a thick, heavy, wet snow this afternoon, which is still going strong. I'm not going to be able to get at it until tomorrow, and I don't imagine that will be fun.
Yesterday evening's forecast was for all rain. I decided to get Chinese carryout, and when I walked out the door at 8:30PM there were those huge wet snowflakes falling, then sleet as I drove in to town, then rain when I got there...then the reverse as I drove back home. It was about 35°F ground-level temp. There was enough white stuff to barely cover the grass, and it was gone by morning. I guess like every other storm we've had this winter, it worked its way up the coastline.
It's snowing pretty heavily here right now. I don't know how much snow we're supposed to get because I don't generally keep up with weather forecasts, given that they are so often wrong. However, when I say it's snowing heavily, I mean that each individual snowflake is large, wet, and heavy and there's a bunch of them. In like a lion come out like a lamb - I hope there's some truth to that.
