...that will allow light, low-stress exercises for one trying to recover from Arthritic shoulders and knees? Nothing like this equipment that I had previously used: Thanks, Hal
Hal try some sit in a chair Yoga. You can look it up on UTube. My auto immune disease was brought on by excersise..so be careful. Some simple stretching ( do not force movement) You could even use 16 ounce can of something as a small weight.
Get one of those stretch bands or some small hand weights... 1 or 2 pound weights to start. (Or use a couple of cans of beans as "weights.")
I have a pair of 2-1/2 pound dumbbells that my wife formerly used, plus a chest exerciser that I could stretch to the limit with 3 bands, now I can barely move it with 1 band. I've simply lost a lot of upper body strength, damn it! Hal
There are several different machines in our AL Fitness Center. The one I use gives me a good 30 minute work out. I still use my walker for walking exercise
A picture of my main machine but we have a treadmill, mini-trampoline, stationary bicycle, weights and I just built a pull-up and dip station in the back yard. All that said, exercise machines are like one’s personal library. The best personal library consists of books that are read.
Don't have any, but do have the Wii Game. Get plenty of exercise bowling, playing tennis, ping pong and other games. Have to stand up to play and can really get exercise that way. One reason we bought the Wii Game a number of years ago, we read that both nursing homes and assisted living places had the game and residents were extremely glad they did. One lady said, "if it weren't for the Wii Game, but *ss would still be stuck to my chair!"
Swimming is my favorite exercise, and i am looking forward to being able to go back to the fitness center in April. Our state is supposed to be stopping some of the bans by April, according to the local news. I try to close the exercise circles on my Apple Watch every day, and right now, walking is the easiest exercise for me. The Apple Watch alerts me to walk every hour for 12 hours, ad when it does, I do 10 laps from one end of the house to the other end each time. By the end of the day, I have walked between 2-3 miles . I sometimes use the treadmill, but I just like the feeling of actually walking somewhere better than just trudging on the treadmill. The exercise bike has handles that move, but are too far away for my short arms, so I am off-balance when I try to use that. I really miss my Gazelle, which was one that i could stand on and kind of glide along, and it was simple enough for me to do. Now that summer is coming, I am also able to be outside and work in the yard again, which I enjoy.
Here's the fitness machine I ordered from Amazon: (But I didn't order 3 images of the S.O.B.!) When used on a table top it exercises the arms and upper body. On the floor, it exercises the legs and lower body. It has variable settings for the magnetic resistance which is applied to the iron flywheel by a movable permanent magnet. The computer/display gives you the speed, time, distance, and calories burned during the workout. [ATTACH=full
Well, one image for the hand option and one image for the foot option and the third one is for show, Good rationalization.
@Babs Hunt , I'll give you fifty bucks for that one. Does the man come with it? @Hal Pollner , I think I'll order one of those. But only one.
