Just for grins I took a look for that product on Walmart's site, thinking they might be a better option for this (and in general.)

They usually beat their "bet-hedging" quoted delivery dates, which is kind of a good thing but leaves you without an accurate expectation. The price from the 3rd part seller is $3 more than Amazon's and the delivery is quoted at Tuesday Apr 13. Walmart also sells these direct for $13 more than Amazon with a quoted delivery of Friday April 9. Router availability in their stores seems to be all over the place. This model Linksys is not an in-store item.

It's when you need something immediate like this (or clothing), or when Amazon frustrates the heck out of you, that you really miss having a variety of brick & mortar stores around.

I wonder if there's a shortage of boxes because of all the online buying, and because box factories might not be in full production...so they're digging deep into the supply of sizes that never get used.

Decades of purchasing, inventory and shipping management will do that for ya.

You think outside of the box ;)

I am planning on making an expansion for the backyard garden this year. I will be using more bamboo for trellis, so I ordered a nice little hatchet from Amazon to help me get the side branches off.
Sometimes, I leave them on because they act like little extra pieces to the trellis, but if i am making “posts”, then I need all of the branches off. It is supposed to warm up again this week, and I am ready to go outside and get started playing with my new “toy”

Just a couple of days ago, I received an SD card in a box large enough to fit a computer, complete with packing bubbles. It was a micro-SD card at that, smaller than a fingernail. Those things are packaged in a hard plastic case that is itself encased in plastic, so they could have shipped it in an envelope.

I just bought 4 more of these:

They are light-sensing nightlights with a Power Failure feature. I don't use the nightlight function (or the flashlight function or the tabletop lantern function) but the Power Failure feature works great. So I got 4 more to put around the house.

I also got a spare grate for my small Weber kettle grill:

I was playing with the small kettle grill and my wok, and discovered that the wok fits nicely inside of it. When placed on hot coals, the wok gets screaming hot and stir fries like nothing you've seen. But when it sits directly on the coals it tends to smother them. So I'm going to cut a circle in the middle of this grate so the wok sits just above the hot coals. Now I can pull out some of my favorite stir fry recipes (asparagus & beef in a black bean sauce is pretty darned good, as is the shrimp version.)

I bought my wife a new mask that design for people in food service. It covers the mouth and nose from bottom. It should make it easier for her to visit doctors with O2 and her glasses

I am having trouble getting a decent connection with the dumb-ass Dell PC that I have in the library, and I want to be able to hang out with Ella sometimes, while she's out there, and still get online. It's not purely an Internet problem because I can take my MacBook out in the backyard if I want to, and connect to our router, and that's in the same direction and beyond the library where the PC is. But I don't want to have to set up my MacBook everytime I want to go out there. I'm hoping this will help.

One of these to use with my adjustable bed, which has shipped (woohoo). This is not very heavy duty but it will do what I need it for after surgery.

Forgot to say I will donate that table to Goodwill or the Salvation Army when I'm done with it.

When I had surgery on my cervical vertebrae I rented a hospital bed for the elevated height. I liked not having to climb up out of bed.
