I never carry any cash or coin, just a debit and credit card. I have a couple of friends that never carry less than $200 cash on them at any one time.

I only carry forty or fifty dollars just in case. I put everything on my credit card. If somebody grabs my purse, they are going to be greatly disappointed. :)

I think I have had the same $80 or so in my wallet for the past year or longer. Never go anywhere except with the husband, and he always pays for stuff. :D

I always carry cash. I have "issues" with those who buy a soda or a bottle of water and whip out the plastic. The Merchant Fees exceed the price of the product, much less the profit. And I would feel at risk should I want to go someplace that does not take plastic. Plus I like yard sales, and have bought implements for my tractor and other stuff just driving by and seeing the For Sale sign.

And my life--like so many here--precedes credit cards. It's a habit. Cash quells my anxiety.

We like to have cash, too. We even keep a stash in our home safe.

And speaking of "whipping out the plastic," last time I was at the medical center I wanted to buy a soft drink from a vending machine. They were $2.75!!!! each and I had nothing smaller than a $5. The machine said it would make change but it kept rejecting my $5, and I noticed a credit card slot. I decided I didn't want the drink ($2.75!!!) enough to use a credit or debit card.

I generally carry a little cash, sixty to to a hundred dollars although I seldom go anywhere.

Rarely. If I'm traveling, I like to have some, though. I had a bad situation once when, while thousands of miles away from home, my card was being declined although I had plenty of money in my account. It seems the bank considered it suspicious that my card was being used outside of Maine and blocked my account, which kind of sucks when it comes up on a Friday night and you're a long way from home.

    Why "No"?

I keep cash around for various reasons. I pay cash for firewood, I find things on Craigslist I want to get without having to make a special trip to the bank, etc.
