There were those that couldn't pay their rent or mortgage payment. They've had their vehicle repossessed due to missing payments. Food Banks were giving out food galore. Well, the U.S. Government has taken care of part of the back, and future, rent payments of some residents as well as mortgage payments as well as stimulus money to many. IOW, it has been a real mess, financially, for many. But, over the weekend, I read that one of the headliner music acts at Cheyenne Frontier Days (Wyoming) will be Garth Brooks. The lowest priced ticket (top level seating in the back) is $598 each. The highest priced ticket, right up front, is $1,771 each. All tickets are selling out fast, the article stated. So, apparently, not everyone has been in "financial distress" during this pandemic! And, the people buying tickets aren't on SS and a nice retirement monthly income.
Some have said that. One young lady stated that she'd never been to one of his concerts, but did see him sing at Biden's Inaugural and doesn't like him at all. She got a number of replies stating "good, that many more tickets for others". As for us, we do like him, very, very much. Have a DVD of him called Coast-To-Coast-To-Coast and a cd of his greatest hits. Love his song, Rodeo and Fever.
Oh, I love his singing, especially the old stuff. I just wouldn't pay those ridiculous concert prices.
Yes, it was really shocking to us the cost, but then again, there are those young folks that will pay the money and go.
Back before he started cheating on his first wife he gave a free concert in New York City. Must have to pay a bunch of alimony.
Well, I just read an article about Garth and his ex and about Garth and Trisha. Garth paid his ex $125 million in a settlement. At the time Garth met Trisha, Trisha was married as well. Cheating, or whatever, both left their spouses, divorced and married each other. Garth asks for a very high cost for a concert, because he deserves it. He has won so many awards, it's almost unbelievable. His concerts sell out very, very fast and are packed with folks. He has won Entertainer of the Year Award seven times.
If you think that he deserves that much money then I guess he does. And, I guess if people want to pay that much money to see someone you say is worth that much money then it’s a no brainer. And, when people go see Garth and find that they need binoculars to even see the big screen because he’s deserves that much money then I guess maybe I should buy tickets too.
Guess there are plenty of people that will use binoculars to see an NFL, NBA or MLB game. They seem not to mind. Like I said before, his concerts are all sold-out, with seats so high up that it would have to take binoculars to see the artist. Then again, many of those people not only use binoculars, but will also hear the music "live". What I'm wondering is...........just where do these young adults, or even younger, get the money. Live at home with their parents? Make a heck of a nice salary at work? I don't get it. Then again, I sure don't see that many young adults buying groceries. But, I do see a lot of young adults eating out on Friday and Saturday nights.
Well ya see, what I don’t get is that a person will moan and groan if they have to pay a qualified accountant, electrician, plumber, or an auto service person money that they earned the hard way but yet will gladly spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to go to a game or some other type of entertainment. Deserve is a crazy word. When your wife works on an account she works harder and is responsible for more than Garth but yet he’s the one who “deserves” that much money?
Bobby, my wife isn't a celebrity, Garth is. And, when he is on tour or in the recording studio, he works much harder than my wife does or ever has. Very, very long hours on tour or recording studio.
The multi billionaires made out like the bandits they are while everyone lost the employment and some even lost their homes the ultra rich made more profit than ever. All their complication got shut down.
The "pandemic" has been great for politicians, particularly governors who were able to give themselves dictatorial powers, and it has been very good for the big tech companies, who were able to assume the mantle of arbiters of truth, and it has been very, very good for the big industries who have been promoting the farce, as the largest ones were not closed, as were most of our independent retailers and restaurants, and then they were able to blame the pandemic for poor customer service. It has also been very good for those who didn't really want to work anyhow, as they were given an excuse for sitting around on their butts doing nothing. Dr. Fauci hasn't done so bad for himself either and, in all likelihood, he had a hand in creating the virus. It was very good for the Democrat Party, as it allowed them to steal more than one election in 2020.
Just to be the devil’s advocate, what the heck is a celebrity? My wife deserves MUCH more than some person who stands in front of a mike doing whatever they do I don’t care how long they do it. She bore and raised three kids and if you tell me that Garth deserves more than she does then you have a very warped sense of what is more important. A person of talent accidentally finds themselves in the limelight and poof, they’re a celebrity and they’re more important and deserve more to you than your own wife or even you?
