I don't know why but the Theme from the Godfather called SPEAK SOFTLY LOVE does it to me every time I hear it.

Not exactly a song, a poem. Happens every time at the line, "Now, don't cry for me, we had a job to do, you see."

Ode to a Mule - Ken Curtis

If it is performed correctly, our National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner.

    Very nice indeed.
Dunno if anyone knows it but Ken Curtis was a lead singer with the Sons of the Pioneers and also sang in a few of John Wayne’s westerns. The man had a beautiful voice.

I believe Reina Ozbay sang this when she was 9 years old. She's now 11.

In my area, it plays every night around 12:20AM. I understand it plays at other specific times in other markets. I turn up the volume every time she sings it. This is a live performance.

The only non-Festus role I've seen him in was on a Perry Mason episode. It's weird seeing him talk normal.

I looked him up when Nancy did her original comment. I had no idea he was an S.O.P. member, not that I was old enough to be a fan.

Here is a clip of 10 Perry Mason guest stars. Ken Curtis is the first excerpt shown:

I wish I could find a clip of him where he's not speaking so strenuously...and where he's not Festus.

This song surprised me when I first heard it, and it has become one of my very favorites since then. Most of the songs that Hank Williams Jr. sings were the drinking and partying songs, and I had no idea what an awesome voice this man actually had.
I was amazed when I learned that he could sing so beautifully, and think it is sad that he wastes his voice on drinking songs. He does have a few other ones that are similar to this one, but this is one that always moves my heart when I listen to it.
