if the people that are elected do their job i dont think it would matter.but the kadashians are going off the air and they will need more work lol
Sorry, but we just can't get into all of this "today" thing. Heck, I even worked for a lesbian couple for a couple of weeks years ago. But, would never do it again. It just seems today, so many things are being pushed onto those that aren't open-minded or that open-minded. I we don't want to accept something, we shouldn't be forced into it. Only my opinion, but a good one!
I care about rational, adult, well-reasoned thoughts and positions. I can always learn from people like that. I'm not really sure how much I want others caring. Our Constitution is full of negative freedoms...the right to be left alone. In some ways I'll take less intrusion and more not caring. We have way too many people in this nation who demand to be affirmed. That's not my job, nor is it yours or anyone elses.
Those who are forcing this stuff do not care about anything other than turning us against each other based on the most superficial of characteristics.
Accepting someone the way they are isn’t an invitation to be WHAT they are. We do not have to like something to accept something. It’s called grace and if every man including myself learned the full impact of what grace can do we’d all be better off. I’m not too fond of Jenner getting some award for bravery because he came out of the closet but no one in the world has told me that I HAVE to like it, just to accept that it’s his award, not mine. Good for him and if I think about it, viewing his past athleticism, it was a pretty brave thing to do. God, grant me the ability to accept the things I cannot change. Now, if someone decided to get in my face and demand that I like something, I can change their attitude quickly.
It IS interesting that name recognition seems to play such a large role. Virginia's Lt. Governor had rape allegations brought against him, and the guy actually said that with all the notoriety it was bringing, he may just run for governor! I'd take Sonny Bono over someone like that.
The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. I bet I've said that well over 10,000 times over the past 30+ years...maybe even 20,000 times. No exaggeration.
Thanx for the quote and I do believe you have. I just wish more people knew the gist of it and practiced it even if they couldn’t quote it. Edit: Oh yeah, I wrote “ability” instead of “serenity” but I’m sure I’m forgiven for that.
Some changes are nice and some, definitely not. I remember, back in 2008, when wife and I were in Michigan for her job. We decided to visit Lincoln Park, where she had lived and went to high school. As we drove thru, I noticed a walk-in theater that showed XXX rated movies. My wife was totally disappointed and shocked. Why? It was the same theater that she went on her first date to. "How could this happen and why did this city let it happen? This was a very decent city to grow up in and now?" Things do change, and many times, not for the good.
I gotta think other things generally went downhill. I've only seen such places in the seedier parts of DC. I hope that theatre was not in a general family business district.
Somehow things degenerated from Katlyn Jenner running for governor of California and accepting him for who he is to whatever happened to a theater in Michigan. ?? If Jenner was IN that XXX movie then I could see the correlation.
Bobby, some replies were indicating about change and I indicated that not all change is good. And, as far as Katlyn Jenner goes, he is now a "she". Neither of us live in California, but my wife's sister does and she thinks it's sickening. She is very much a Christian and believes in what the Bible says, not how folks want to interrupt it themselves. IOW, she is a lot like us, when it comes to "not being open-minded". She asked me, "why do people keep pushing this crap onto us? Running for Governor, how absolutely ridiculous!", she also said.
Love the sinner, hate the sin. Not hate the sinner and the sin. And as far as accepting things, the U.S. is not yet a totalitarian government nor a theocracy nor a dictatorship. If Jenner or anyone like him/her wants to run for governor it’s up to each individual to decide what to do on the merits given. If a Christian would rather vote for the present governor of California (if he isn’t recalled) because he’s straight, so be it but he’s an idiot compared to Jenner. That’s like voting for Hillary because of her sex which, a lot of people did. People also voted for Obama because he’s black. I was tempted to vote for Carter because like a lot of people thought, he’s a Christian and smart so he’s got to be a good president. At least my conscious is clear because I decided to vote otherwise. Now....that character Biden chose for Secretary of health or something or other, is a disgrace not because he wants to be a girl but because he and his whole family is goofy and frankly, looks unhealthy to boot for someone who is supposed to be involved with health. It’s about the whole picture. If you walk into a room with just a small flashlight, you’re not seeing the whole room, you can’t. If you’re afraid of turning on all the lights so you can see the whole room then you like many others are part of the problem, not the solution.
