Not mother's day here in the UK....we have it in March so it's past , but I'd like to wish you all in the USA...

 

Ah yes but Captain Kangaroo of yesteryears TV fame used to end his show with, “ remember that Everyday is Mother’s Day and the magic words are please and thank you. So, Happy Mother’s Day to you @Holly Saunders !

 

First, Happy Mother's Day to all mother's on this forum.

Second, funny thing is, all the great things we are saying today about mother's, most, if not all, of them will be said on Father's Day........about fathers. And, in today's world, almost all fathers do the very same things that mothers do, except obviously, childbirth.

To be serious though, even in today’s mixed up, helter skelter world, the function of a mother is still as it has always been. She worries different than we men, feeds differently, loves differently and cries differently. While we stand with our emotions hidden, a mother of even today wears hers not only in her heart but wide open as a book for everyone to read.
A mother is totally different than the father and I thank the Lord above that they are..........

 

Instead of starting another Mother's Day thread, I'll just ask this in this thread:

Any plans for this Sunday, Mother's Day? We haven't got any, but then again, weather forecasters are calling for rain. Now, when we lived in So. California, we took my wife's mother to Mimi's for a buffet breakfast. That was in 2000 and 2001.

 

I received this earlier today, from my youngest daughter.
