Hmmm. I found this interesting but more than a little disturbing. Kinda reinforces my preference for being cremated. If you are squeamish, you might want to pass on the video. It's 14 minutes long.
So why does the adjective "dead" always have to precede the noun "body"? The context of the sentence pretty much lets us know the "ceased to be" state of things.
It's a common thing. I bet people put the needless adjective there more often than not. So...got another thread I can try to derail? There's no way I'm watching that video. And your cremation comment made me wonder what they will do with the titanium apparatus I have in between a couple of cervical vertebrae. I was in an FDA pilot program. Mine was among the first. I wonder if it's got collector's value? I wonder if I can auction off the future rights to it on Ebay?
@Beth Gallagher .. Beth you stop this morbid crap right now! Do not make me drive all the way down to Houston and hunt your butt down and give you a whipp'en! Seeing and reading and this mess is not the way to stay positive.
@Lon Tanner needs to stop playing with Cranberry and check this thread. He probably has input on this mortician thing.
As a former As a former Mortician myself I find all the commentary on the video to be accurate for bodies that have not been autopsied. If there has been a autopsy there are a number of changes to be made in the embalming procedure. Watching a Full Autopsy video might prove interesting to many folks. It's a lot more work to make a body presentable for viewing if there has been a autopsy.
