Here is a picture of where the pipeline goes that was hacked into. It definitely looks like we are in the middle of it, and probably @John Brunner also. The end is in Houston, so it would also affect @Beth Gallagher , and maybe @Shirley Martin ?

And it will continue. Under Obama it got to over $5,00 a gallon. Biden and the Democrats will most likely do the same thing this time.

I hope that all the people who voted for Biden wind up having to pay $15.00 per gallon. I sure do miss President Trump.

BTW, with the fighting breaking out anew in the middle east, look for everything to go up in cost.

The pipeline originates in Houston, so no worries here. (We have all the refineries. :D)

    "Remember When" ?

If a doctor needed to visit, he could and would do so for a few dozen eggs, a chicken, or help building his barn later or previously (as a community)

The needs to remain healthy were dietary, and rest, or exercise.

Inflation today - how much ? Average $1200.00 per month for medical coverage, and over $100,000.00 per year for some ? (in allopathic users)
Average perhaps $150.00 per month or less for naturopathic users. ?

    Real numbers ?

Good luck trying to find them. So many have told me their medicine only cost $5 to $12 per prescription,

not realizing someone else pays for them thru the insurance or tax payers funds to bigfarma.(thousands of dollars each, on average?)

Well, back in '73, we had a system where your license plate's last digit odd, then you could get gas only on odd-numbered days, else even-numbered days as I recall.

Do you think that will come back? I believe that many states reduced the max speed limit to 55 to save gas. I'm glad my little Civic gets 41 mph on the road (not that I plan to go anywhere)

That is only the start. It will get much worse.

A large part of pharmaceutical consumption is demand-pull.

People want The Magic Pill. Perhaps we have been sold on that concept. I grew up reading Popular Science, and they and other periodicals & pubs spoke of "taking a pill" for everything from curing a disease to taking in our daily nourishment. But most human inclination is to take the easy way out.

I find it interesting that as we have worse diets, have horrible sleep habits, and become more sedentary, our life expectancy increases. Changing those things may maximize quality, but quantity of years rises as our behaviour declines. So something is offsetting our best efforts to die sooner.

And some meds ARE $5 to $12 per script. Statins (regardless of what you think of them) are $10/month without insurance. I'm sure there are other such meds.

I managed a Hess gas station during that mess. Exceptions were made for commercial vehicles, provided the drivers were in possession of an EPA certificate. Having a painted logo did not qualify. It's the only job I've ever had where someone threatened my life.

Regarding the return of "Odd/Even", with all these Vanity Tags you would have to make a provision for letters.

The speed limit was set by the government as an executive order at 55. Later on, a couple of states like Nevada obeyed that mandate but if you were going faster up to 70, the driver would only get a $10 fine payable upon being stopped. Over 70 and your rear end was theirs.

I doubt if anything like a slower speed limit will occur because it was found that the 55 MPH limit made little or no difference in the long run.
Okay, I’ll go get a tag made that says, “Me First”.

Gas prices are going up rapidly. Since that's a Democrat agenda, I'm not holding my breath for a Democrat-run government to do anything about it.

Last year a man got to visit a medical conference "for doctors only" (heart doctors). The show was about statins.

There is a medical term used to describe how many people have to receive a drug in order for one person to benefit.
I do not remember the term, but it is something common.

For one person to have a benefit from a statin, 94 people , or was it 64 people? , have to be given statins.
If about that number are given a script for statin drugs, all other things considered equal, one person benefits.

The presenter giving the presentation to the ama, board certified, licensed heart doctors (all of hume daily gave statins, routinely, normal protocol) was not contradicted by any of the heart doctors present.
They all knew that giving statins is normal protocol, they get paid to give them, and they do not see good results , even if they pay attention, in the ones they give statins to - as verified by each study done and presented on statins. They still continued to use statins as that was what they were told to do. (like the congressmen, doctors, who called any death a covid death, to receive more money, as was published many times in the last year and a half).

Next, what is possible without statins ?

How many people have to be given a different protocol to benefit from the protocol , based on every study ever done ?

This has been hinted at , if not more directly posted, by the moderators of many forums, and by several though not all memebers posting.

The presented protocol involved no drugs at all, btw, but was a method used by some without let-up for all their years practicing, and over a century of known and recorded practices/ clinics/ successful care givers (licensed and not licensed).
To see one person receive benefits from the protocol used in comparison to statins,
only one person needed to be given the protocol - i.e. everyone benefited. Not one out of 64, or whatever.

It is being used in some places previously where it was forbidden, but is tightly controlled.

The man who went to the presentation was not invited in officially, was not a regular heart doctor but rather was (and is) a chiropractor, and someone else when he was in the area directed him to the conference that was "for doctors only".
He went to see what it was about, and they welcomed him in without questioning him, so he got to see the presentation without claiming to be an md.

I think Biden said he wanted to double gas and diesel prices to "combat global warming," so I agree that his (or who ever is in charge's) administration will do nothing to make it better, and with the commotion in the Middle East, it may actually be worse than the 1970s.

My local news says that the pipeline was restarted at 5PM EST and will take about 5 days for supplies to return to normal.

There have been reports of a few gas stations in Richmond (40 miles away) and Charlottesville (20 miles away) not having gas. I don't know if those are specific national brands or the unbranded guys. I've not ventured out locally to see what my areas is like...with my current lifestyle, a tank of gas lasts a couple of weeks unless I have an unusually packed schedule.

I posted that I managed a Hess gas station in the past. On a busy holiday weekend during normal (non-rationing) times, we would need to have our underground tanks refilled (get deliveries from tankers) 2-3 times. So in normal high-traffic times, a station that "has gas" could go dry in a single day if deliveries are not available. Stations these days might be able to go longer if storage capacities have changed [increased] since I was in the business. I forget exactly what our capacity was...perhaps 1,000-2,000 per flavor (regular, unleaded, high test.)

I lived outside of DC for almost 50 years. Nearly everyone was (and still is) "Me First." A handful of us were "Go Right Ahead."
