I love Anita Kerr. "Velvet Voices and Bold Brass" is a great album. Such nice close harmony. "You and I" is a great short song, starts @ 3:20 "Lalena" at 6:20
This was one of the first 45 rpm records I ever bought; I played it non-stop. I remember when the Rolling Stones were on Ed Sullivan; my dad was reading the Sunday paper and peered over it at the TV. He made his little "disgusted" sound, hah.
Ah, yes. As most here know, the Stones had to change "Let's spend the night together" to "Let's spend some time together." If they hadn't, 100 audience members would have spit out their Geritol.
This song was written in the 1960’s by Rod McKuen, and was recorded and became a huge hit for Glenn Yarbrough. I am not sure if it was released in the late 60’s or early 70’s, but since it was written in the 60’s I am putting it in this thread.
Not one, but TWO flashes from the past!!! As prolific as they were, you would think they'd be more prominent on oldies stations.
