Remember walking into the Sears Store and smelling the fresh popcorn, nuts, etc. from the center of the store where the snacks were sold? Also the rubbery smell of the tire department while you waited with your dad for new tires to be mounted.
Summer nights sleeping at my grandma's; through the open window the sounds of the tree frogs in the woods.
My niece was a toddler when at my brothers house for a few months. The room I stayed in had two twin beds. My niece and I shared the room, and I had pushed the two beds together. She was small for her age, and had tufts of carrot colored hair trying to grow. My SIL would bathe her and then send her in for bedtime. She would get in the bed and snuggle up next to me. The smell of Baby Magic is still a favorite of mine. She always smelled clean and fresh. Loved the scent. I even worn it myself in those younger years of mine, but never smelled as sweet and comforting as my little Thumbelina all snuggled up next to me.
The sound of a rooster crowing at dawn. The sweet smell of a cow at milking time. The smell of fresh mown hay.
Bacon and onions sauteed in the grease. New car smell! Haven't had one in so long, not sure they even add that anymore
Not sure I miss this per sae .. when we were kids and very sick with the croup as it were called - the folks made us a whiskey toddy. Knocked your butt out until morning. You were like healed over night in some cases. I made hubby one years ago when he was real sick. He was impressed. By todays standard would be child endangerment.
