Is Silvia.......with an "i".... and please, "get started". This subject needs to be discussed over and over until people learn to mind their own business. Thanks for your excellent answer. You are not hard core but a person with a lot of common sense.... Your "dissertation" reminds me of a friend who was extremely hard against abortion............until his daughter was raped / pregnant by a psycho. No. nobody has the right to force a woman to carry an unweanted fetus...not ever her husband / boyfriend
Frankly... I don't care if what I say happens once or millions times.....and trust me when I say I had "a lil bit" of knowledge about embryology. Secondly, a fetus is not a child.........and even if it was singing inside the woman's berlly............she has the right to terminate the pregnancy. The difference between you and I is you want to impose your opinions on the other part.
and you want to impose your views on a separate person. Bye how does a fetus become a baby. Never mind you can't tell me because they are the same e thing
This was addressed in this forum several years ago, and what has been discovered is that most "pro-choice" people are not pro-choice at all but pro abortion. They just don't want to call it that. Same with "pro-life", although there are more pro-life people that pro choice.
Not true Don. No one is pro abortion, but the only one who should have the right to decide is the woman her self.. She's the nly one who knows about her situation.
No, dear, I don't care to impose my opinions on people.....about, abortion, my atheism or anything else. I think I have "a lil bit" of knowledge about the mitosis / meiosis.
Sorry, so sad, no. That's like saying that a man is the only one who knows about his situation, so killing 12 school children with a gun is okay for him to do.
@Jeff Elohim Your comparison here, if you really mean it, is ridiculous. Killing children (shudder, with a GUN) is the act of one insane. The woman considering having an abortion performed is entirely of a different mind. Absurd. Frank
Shudder when worse than insane - as if a sane person would throw away their own life, possibly giving up their chance for healing and salvation, by taking the life of anyone else, in any case, ever.
So sorry @Silvia Benoit . I apologize for misspelling your name. I saw something elsewhere this morning that applies here. "If you think locking up or executing women for having abortions or miscarriages is a good idea, you are a forced birth extremist. Not pro-life, not even anti-choice. Forced Birth Extremist. That is the term we need to be using now." ~ Tae Phoenix. The statement was accompanied by a photo of the main character from The Handmaid's Tale - a frightening dystopian novel. In my opinion and that of millions of women in the position to know -- which no man is and so as the courts say, men have no standing to be heard on the argument -- denying abortion in the circumstances of rape and incest is a particularly cruel and inhuman policy. Denying abortion in these circumstance is not only forced birth extremism, it is prolonged, even life long, torture for the sake of controlling women's bodies.
I think you argued the same thing when this was last addressed @Sheldon Scott. Many, many people are proabortion. Wife worked at a walk-in clinic. They did pregnancy tests and the "pro-choice" folks would hustle girls and women with positive tests down the street to the abortion clinic before they could even think about what was happening and perhaps change their minds. I think you are dealing in the theoretical and what you think occurs without experience in the real world in that arena.
Years ago, a local politician said to Polly Roinstein -head of the Women Coalition for Legal Abortion /Westchester county, NY- : "We could care less about abortion / no abortion.........the fact is we don't want to give the women so much power." Gee, to jail a woman for a miscarriage is an aberration. And, please, don't feel bad about misspelling my name....everybody does.
