I have always wanted to go there. I have an acquaintance who goes every year just to tango. I'm not much for the tango, but I'm pretty sure I'd love B.A.

I don't tango at all.......Buenos Aires is lovely; looks a lot like Paris but right now I recommend not to go there; too much liberalism going on.

I was in BA in 1968, but have never been back, although I have longed to go back there with my wife someday. My Spanish is very rusty, so I would need refreshing, and, if I recall correctly, Argentinian Spanish is quite different from everywhere else on the planet with a lot of French, German and English kinda mixed in. I never danced when I was there.

I've often thought it would be nice to live in a small city where everything is within walking distance. If nothing else, it would be much better for your health to walk to stores, theatres, parks, shopping, etc. than driving everywhere. Of course, being in a rural area means you are somewhat insulated from political winds, where they may be intensified in densely populated areas.

Yes, the Argentinian Spanish is quite different but understood by everybody who speaks Spanish; the Uruguayan speak exactly as we do. The Argentinean Spanish has a lot of Italian,, French and English......but German doesn't amount to even 1% and this is do to the LOVELY fact the German not only kept to themselves but moved mostly to Chile and Paraguay soon after going to Argentina. We didn't like them and we let them know.

I forgot Italian. It has been many years since I was there, so I hope I am forgiven.

In Argentina, at least until 10 years ago, many people spoke English and other languages. Since some SOB want to socialize the country things are turning ugly.

Two years ago an American tourist was stab10 times by and Argentinean (18) and a Colombian. A police officer shot dead the Argentinean....Guess who was arrested? No, no the Colombian but the officer; he was tried and convicted (two years suspended sentence). The fact the American tourist testified in his favor made no difference. Why? Because they want to attack the cops and glorify the criminals.
