I have "Veteran" status, but I joined the forum in August 2015. Length of time on forum constitutes "Veteran" status? Guess we'll have to wait and see what Ken says.
If you message Ken, he can take the task force label off of your avatar information, @Faye Fox . I don’t think that any of us who volunteered have done anything, and don’t actually know what it is for. It was supposed to be for changing the Help Section, but I really don’t know what we are supposed to do. There is also a Supreme Member, but only Steve North and Shirley Martin have that distinction. I think it must be something to do with trophy points. Steve and Shirley both have over 500 trophy points, so this makes the most sense.
Thanks, Yvonne. Yes, trophy points do make the most sense so I will have to wait until I hit the 3-year mark or become a spammer hahaha!
All you have to do is play the games, Faye. Even if it is only one word, it counts as a post, and that is how Steve and Shirley have so many points.
Unfortunately, I am not so much for games just to receive a status. I will just serve my time. Just my opinion but I think posts that require time and thought, add more to a forum than hit and run gaming. Gaming sure attracts more to join a forum and stay active, but I have to think the success of SOC is in the diverse spectrum of topics and discussion that follows. I know that makes a forum more visible on the internet than one word or short replies.
Trophy Points: but since you get trophy points for a variety of things, such as longevity, number of posts, likes, and so on, it all fits in.
At some point, I might set up a small private area for members who have reached a yet-to-be-specified level, and which will not be accessible by search engine spiders, people who aren't logged in to an account, and who have not yet reached that level.
It isn't an issue, I was just curious and now have my answer. Just a bit of my humor with my desire for knowledge hahaha! I now know to reach this coveted status, I have to serve 16 more months or make 3295 more posts comprised of at least one word, an emoticon, or perhaps just a digit.
I would say that "Likes" are (or can be) the measurement of quality & content. But it would be interesting to measure the number of comments made under topics that members have started. That DIY one of @Von Jones is getting lengthy. There are others that have taken off as well. I just posted under "What's For Supper," which has over 3,800 replies. That would sure measure Quality. Maybe there could be an annual or semi-annual acknowledgement of still-active "Threads of Legion." To me some of this stuff is really recognition of participation than it is a level to be attained.
I always knew I was awesome but I just now learned that I am supreme. Y'all may now begin to address me as Your Most Excellent Supremeness. I didn't even know that I had trophy points. Can I buy anything with them?
Very true but still that is 2387 more likes to reach 5000 hahaha! Anyway, it doesn't matter and is all a bit of a juvenile game. Many thanks for the compliment and hope I can live up to making more substantial posts in the future. Thanks for the likes to posts ratio award
