Powerful Free West nations plan to counter Beijing's growing influence by offering developing nations an infrastructure plan that could rival China's multi-trillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative. To be known as the Build Back Better World (B3W) initiative, the scheme will provide a transparent infrastructure partnership to help narrow the $US40 trillion ($51.9 trillion) needed by developing nations by 2035. The G7 leaders said they had been searching for a coherent response to the growing assertiveness of China's surging economic and military rise over the past 40 years.
Sleepy Joe has surprised many with his hard stance on Beijing imo. Trump was softer in my view.. tho I am an outsider and may not have the full story.
@Terence Eames I understand that Australia has by far the most effective small submarine force on the planet for coastal defense. It is hard to compare the nukes with the sneaky diesel subs, but the diesel subs are much quieter than nukes when on batteries and battery technology has greatly improved in recent years. The Aussies and other colonial and Commonwealth armies truly saved Britain's behind in WWII and you were a very effective ally to the U.S. in the pacific. Have you seen this video? Milne Bay
Good to hear your praise about our Collins class subs Don. They 're going in for a refit soon at about $1bill each. Probably much better Lithium batteries and higher tech? I'll watch the Milne bay clip later, it's about 45min long. I'm familiar with the Kakoda trail battle and the Coral sea, Midway, ... The alliance turned back the Japanese at the borders of Australia and now we're all great friends and allies. Honourable people Japanese. I even have a Japanese sister-in-law and German friends! The world keeps turning but China lacks honour and deserves no trust given all their lies and shenanigans.
Trump cost China billions on trade and jobs that returned to America. So far, Biden's is just TALK. Time will tell.
Okay , politically I have no idea and I have not seen it in the news/ media/ reports anywhere. Was it Biden or someone else who came up with and put in place the 4 or 5 TRILLION dollar budget that has been in the news. (Several news stations repeatedly showed this cost/budget of Trillions of dollars, but I did not see or notice if they said who it was responsible for it? ) Whoever it is/was/ that's very expensive "TALK", eh ?
Thanks for the link about the battle for Milne Bay Don. That was a real eye opener and a great defensive action by the Aussies repelling a stronger Japanese force. Their defense at the air field was first class, especially when they tried to outflank the killing field. Frypan into fire! I see the Chinese are having another hissy fit after being condemned by the G7 Nations etc... Their own lying n denying words only serve to make them look worse.
Xi Xi Ping Pong said he won't tolerate any more slagging off at China or their heads will be smashed against steel. Then goes on to say his desire for peace and stability. What a stupid hypocrite. Yah, and the CHINA PANDEMIC. No apologies, no grace, a disgrace on the human race. Sinovax is a joke of a vaccine, developed by backyard scientists whose speciality is reverse engineering, inept creative thought.
The Australian military is closely tracking a high-tech Chinese surveillance ship making its way towards northern Australia ahead of large-scale military exercises which begin this week. The vessel, Uranus, is then expected to monitor the Talisman Sabre 2021 war games involving Australia and the United States, which will be officially opened today. This is the third time the CCP has sent a ship to monitor Talisman Sabre. As it stays out of Australian territorial waters there is not much the Australian government can do to stop this provocative act..
I have seen this video Don. Milne Bay did not get the publicity of Kokoda, however, both campaigns were integral in stopping the Japanese Empire from gaining a foothold on the Australian territory, from which to provide a base for an invasion of the Australian mainland. Think it is fair to say that New Guinea 1942 was the Australian Defence Force's "finest hour".
Things look pretty bad for the U.S. forces, especially the Navy. They are so busy with diversity training that they are not combat-ready, at least according to the Daily Mail: link It might be Taiwan, Japan, The Philippines, Vietnam (ironically) and Australia against China, as the U.S. seems to be bowing out in favor of "wokeness" if an attempt to take Taiwan is made.
Surely not. Would they still be conducting Talisman Sabre on Australian shores or continuing to keep troops in our Top End if that was the case. We need America and my son says America needs war. Adding South Korea to those nations. What about the EU? All this war talk is scary.
as the U.S. seems to be bowing out in favor of "wokeness" You referring to the fact that the US does not officially recognise Taiwan as a separate state from China. The Australian Govt. doesn't either.. yet we may both be prepared to go to war to protect it. Does that make sense?
Canberra has hit back at Beijing's claims it is derailing the rollout of Chinese vaccines in Papua New Guinea (PNG), the most-populous Pacific nation. "We support Papua New Guinea making sovereign decisions," Minister for the Pacific, Zed Seselja, said in an interview with CNN That evidently is not the way Beijing sees it. Earlier this month, Chinese state-run tabloid Global Times accused Australia of "sabotaging China's vaccine rollout in the Pacific and undermining vaccine cooperation" in the region. Get a grip JiPing as Australia is offering.. free too, the New Guinea people a safe Australian made (CSL) vaccine unlike the Chinese varieties which some western experts say have no more than 60% efficacy after double doses. Hearing that some 30 Indonesian doctors and medical personel have died despite having a dual Chinese vax jab.
