I cranked up my Macbook last night and updated to the latest OS. When I access SOC on the Mac, I get the exact same issue with the Home button. I'm suspecting the issue is not on my end, and I am not moving to Maine.
@Ken Anderson .. for some reason I have not ben able to Log out..Same thing still tis morning. Any ideas as to why?
Still not sure what is going on. Managed to finally sign off yesterday. Will see what happens when I go to log off in a bit. Have appt. soon . @Beth Gallagher ,,thank you
More likely to be something with your computer than with the forum, @Gloria Mitchell . If it was something going on with the forum itself, then everyone would have problems, like we do when there is a DDOS attack somewhere along the line , and no one can even get on the forum. Maybe some kind of an update that changed your settings on your computer ?
While there may be technical answers to these questions, they are beyond me. Nothing has changed with the forum, meaning I haven't toggled any switches to quit letting people log in or to log them out, but sometimes, s--- just happens, and the problem could be anywhere. It could be a browser problem, for sure, because it wasn't that long ago that websites were browser-specific, and because browser coders are always making changes that show up in browser updates, many of which are done in the background so you don't even know that your browser has updated. Browser updates sometimes include new defaults, different ways of handling cookies, and so on. It could be a connection problem, and that doesn't necessarily mean that your ISP has screwed something up, as your ISP simply allows you access to the Internet. Any websites, pages, or resources that you access are routed through countless connections, and any one of them could create a problem. Database glitches do occur, as the processes involved in participating in interactive media require a whole lot of moving digital parts, so glitches occur sometimes, particularly if we are faced with a DDOS attack at the time that these parts are moving. Usually, the forum will leave error messages in my Admin account telling me about database errors, however, and I haven't received any of them lately. When I do, they are usually spaced closely together and I conclude that we were probably the victim of a random DDOS attack at the time. When I say random, I mean that I am not implying that the Russians, or the Chinese government, are trying to take down the SENIORSonly Club forum. Usually, they target Internet hubs, and we sometimes get in the line of fire. Or they could have targeted one of the Internet hubs that your connection is routed through, which would account for problems that occur to some members and not others.
Did you remember to check that little box that says "stay signed in" or whatever? I forget about that sometimes.
I get logged out sometimes too when I move from one page to another. It doesn't happen often and my browser saves my login stuff so I just log back in. I get logged out of Amazon sometimes too. I am in now way saying it doesn't happen, just that it's not necessarily a problem created within the forum software and it's not something I can go in and do anything about.
@Ken Anderson -- I noticed when posting in the Roll Call thread that the "@" symbol thing doesn't work for Thomas Stearn. Not sure what's going on there since it worked for every other person I tried.
Let me see, we have @Thomas Stearn ... no, it doesn't work for me either. I'll see if I can figure it out. It does make an alert link of it but it required me to write the whole thing out.
