As I said, @Cody Fousnaugh it is an individual decision. For older folks with co-morbidities to get vaccinated is one thing; for teenagers at little to no risk from the vaccine is quite another.
I see a lot of misinformation about the vaccines on here and quite a few conspirarcy theories. Get the facts from sources that rely on supported evidence: Myths and Facts about COVID-19 Vaccines | CDC; Get the facts about COVID-19 vaccines - Mayo Clinic; Vaccines - Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center (jhu.edu); COVID-19 Vaccines: Infographic | Johns Hopkins Medicine; COVID-19 vaccines (who.int) If you want to get your infomation from reliable media sources see this site: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com Or you can just go to sources that support what you already want to beleive. It's called confirmation bias. The choice is yours.
I heard there is a new vaccine coming out that is "old school," meaning it's a weakened form of the virus. But I don't understand how that could be approved if having had the actual virus does not suffice.
The only thing I could think of is the ability to get boosters, which would maintain an antibody titer over time.
Happy Birthday, Cody! And glad to hear you and your lovely bride are both fully vaccinated. God Bless.
I probably will get the J&J vaccine at some point, but I'm still in "wait and see" mode. Honestly I feel so horrible from chemo that I just can't make myself get a shot that might add to my misery right now. My husband recently got his first shot and will have #2 in July. Since he attends to his mother and is out in public places where I can't go, he decided it might help to protect my MIL and me.
My first question is where you got the information that there's aluminum and mercury in any of the vaccines or, if there is, what about it. The following contain what I believe to be information from credible sources. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-...gredients-listed-in-these-posts-idUSKBN2AQ2SW https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/concerns/thimerosal/index.html I was first up to get the vaccine after the first responders -- I was jabbed two days after them. I got the Moderna, had some pain at the injection site the next day, and nothing after that. I had no reaction at all after the second shot. The complications of long-haul COVID, to say nothing of death, are much, much more horrible than whatever temporary reaction might result from the vaccines. In addition, if you take a look at the numbers of the occasional serious side effects of the vaccine and the occasional side effects of some of the medications many people take every day, the vaccines win hands down for safety. I'd suggest getting the vaccine.
I checked the CDC website a couple of days ago and a little over 3 out of every 4 seniors (65 and over) are fully vaccinated, with another 1 out of 10 having one shot. I'm in the fully vaccinated group and my SO is in the "one shot" group, and she will get her second shot in a few more weeks.
There is no aluminum in the Pfizer vaccine. That myth has been debunked. LINK to ingredients As to mercury, you may be thinking of thimerosal, a preservative which contains mercury. The Pfizer vaccine has no preservatives. That's one reason why it has to be kept refrigerated. I had both shots in April. No side effects at all. A little soreness in the arm for a half day with the first shot.
PEG is in the vaccines. PEG Compound Can Trigger Allergic Reactions to Vaccines ... https://www.verywellhealth.com/peg-compound-in-covid-19-vaccine-5119161 PEG, also called macrogol, is a lipid compound that acts as a solvent, thickener, softener, and moisture carrier in many common products including medications, toothpaste, shampoo, skincare, and laxatives. PEG is an additive in both the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines. And, since there has been no reliable indications that the vaccines do more good than harm, why get one at all ? What's in Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine? When the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine received an EUA from the FDA, its ingredients list was published online in a fact sheet for vaccine recipients and caregivers. This is the full list of ingredients, according to the FDA: mRNA Lipids (including ((4-hydroxybutyl)azanediyl)bis(hexane-6,1-diyl)bis(2-hexyldecanoate), 2 [(polyethylene glycol)-2000]-N,N-ditetradecylacetamide, 1,2-Distearoyl-sn-glycero-3- phosphocholine, and cholesterol) Potassium chloride Monobasic potassium phosphate Sodium chloride Dibasic sodium phosphate dehydrate Sucrose
Yes, confusion has been a part of the medical system for a century , on purpose. Look again at the list. See , check, google, duckduckgo ----- see if you can find ANYTHING HELPFUL in that list, ANYTHING HEALTHY AT ALL ?
PEG is there, but I still don't see thimerosal or aluminum. Since you have pharmacy training, you may see things that others don't.
Yes, maybe, but it was the holistic doctors and pharmacists I met who taught me more than all the medical and pharmacy classes all together, and truthfully instead of in order to control and deceive the population for profit. But that is still not the point, is it ? Look again, IS ANYTHING in the list of ingredients in the vaccine(s) HELPFUL TO ANYONE other than those who are PROFITING (making money) from it ?
