    Spiralizers come with numerous warnings.... blades are sharp.... use caution... do not touch blades... blades are sharp.

    I spiralized some zucchini a few minutes ago. So I cleaned the spiralizer. Then I ran my fingers over the parts to make sure they were completely clean. Including the blade. Guess what? They are right. The blade is sharp. It cuts fingers as well as it does zucchini.

    Have you ever done something that dumb?

    It's better that spreading something with a sharp knife and actually pondering licking it if you do it juuuuuust right.

    edit to add: This is why we don't use our real names ;)

    Hey, I have done that! You just have to remember to lick away from the sharp edge.

    It hurts more when the act is preceded with the "I probably shouldn't do this..." thought.

    When friends ask when you picked up the lisp, just tell them to thut up.

    @Shirley Martin

    Reminds me of the "fan principle". I have shocked many by allowing a spinning fan blade to rattle across my fingers! The trick involves ONLY touching the blades where the air stream is coming out. From the other side, the sharp edges slice into anything foolishly inserted there. This is why after serious frontal collisions, we often see the fan blade "screwed into" the car's radiator.

    Did ya ever wonder why the words, keep hands and feet away (or something like that) are actually embedded in the steel on a lawnmower?
    Somebody, at some time must have ventured to find out if the blade was spinning and reached under there or maybe gotten their toenails trimmed…

    And yes, I too have tested the waters on many an occasion…..

    There was a guy who started to pick up his running lawnmower to trim the hedges. I say "started to pick up..."
