With the absence of intelligent life in Washington, D.C. there are a couple of words being thrown around that are socially diametrically opposed to each other but are being treated the same.
    1. Equality
    2. Equity

Since Biden, Harris, Pelosi, AOC and others are pumping up the word “equity” in relation to opportunities enjoyed among the races, the media has been spreading the equity butter on the bread of racial tension so as to intimate that equity of opportunity should be the ultimate goal.

First, equality in this context means that the track is level and everyone on that track has the same opportunities to win.
Equity on the other hand, means that no matter who excels, even the guy in last place will get the same trophy as the winner.

Maybe my first sentence was in error because maybe that’s the plan. Communism is based on equity in that one person has no more than the other.
Maybe they’re so smart that they already know that a simple twist of wording will be unnoticed by John Q. Public and suddenly be the mantra of mama’s basement dwellers.

Maybe Bill Gates believes in equity too and my bank account will suddenly increase dramatically and his will suddenly decrease even though I didn’t do the work he did to achieve the wealth. Not.

How does this relate to doctors living here who aer better than the ones currently working in practice, clinics, and hospitals,
but are not allowed to work because they learned in another country. ? Equality or Equity or something else ?

And what if , as is the case I think, the opportunities are not there, and American laws are preventing people from doing what they are very well qualified to do ? I think that by law the number of doctors is very limited, and their ability and credentials even when they surpass others may not be accepted because not from USA school.

If the opportunities are there and American laws are adhered to then anyone can aspire to any length they wish no matter of race, ethnicity, place of origin, religion, sex etc. It’s called equality.

You’re missing the whole point of the thread Jeff. You’re back on the medical this and that and I already explained the parameters of equality.

NOTE: Whether a doctor, lawyer, butcher, baker, candle stick maker or whatever the occupation of ANYONE is, if they pass an American Bar, pass the medical examiner’s board of the state, or in the case of a butcher or baker be able to pass a SafeServe test then they can all do whatever blows their skirts up.

I saw a black woman discussing this on one of the cable news channels yesterday. I don't know who she was but her talking points were excellent.

There are a lot of responses by some pretty prominent black men and women on YouTube who can’t get their heads around what is going on in Washington.
They’re all saying primarily the same thing in that they achieved their goals through hard work and not because it was given to them.

In the racetrack of life, everyone has hurdles that they have to maneuver over or around but the opportunities according to our Constitution are wide open for anyone.
According to the idiot vote farmers in Washington, equity has to be achieved which means that the guy in the mailroom gets the same perks as the guy whose name is on the boss’s door.

    Here’s Officer Tatum’s breakdown….

Is it true that there can only be a set number of federal holidays? When they added MLK's birthday, they combined some presidential birthday holidays.

The underlying validity might have merit, but it smells of pandering. And it takes this day that has been historically observed by few and makes it a day that America's short history of slavery will be the official point of focus for political benefit every year from now on.

What if they moved Black History month from February to June and somehow maneuver MLK’s birthday into June as well. Maybe even Kwanza can be fit in so the Left can have a whole month of non-stop racial pandering every 4 years.
They can walk around with their Kente cloths and try to talk southern black like H. Clinton did and maybe even boycott a white guys store or something.
    Gotta have equity.

Given that they have abandoned everything Martin Luther King stood for, that might make sense.

This is exactly what I have been thinking. As far as I am concerned, we can have whatever holidays we want, and honor whatever person we believe should be honored, and color has absolutely nothing to do with any of it, it is the person that is being honored.
The problem exists when this is all being done to make someone (Biden) look good to people, and not because he really wants to honor someone or some thing.
Bobby mentioned having a whole month of honoring black people, and that part would be fine, too. But when it is happening just to play on someone’s feelings and pretend to honor one race of people, then it is fake and is an insult and not an honor.
