Looks great! And I suspect a lot of folks have just gotten used to eating in their room and thereby avoiding the need to get dressed, etc to go down to dinner.

Your meal looks very, very good, Lon!

As far as the rest of the residents, what others here have stated about that.

Maybe I can get a couple of residents to join me tonight and share this wine.

I just read a little on the history of that grape. Brought to Argentina by a Frenchman in the late 1800s (where it flourished), and the clone he brought over is no longer in existence in France. Interesting stuff.

So do "they" keep your wine stored somewhere for you, Lon? Are each it their proper storage condition?

Everyone else is either eating in their apartments or inside in the dining room. I saw that no one was out here and I thought What The Hell. The heat will help my arthritis.

Dinner was Swiss Steak with a Mushroom Risotto/Carrots & Peas. I brought my own wine. Swiss Steak.jpg

footnote to be deleted anytime as desired:

Since you brought up arthritis in the op, did you know, ever learn, or become aware, that arthritis pain is (apparently or really) caused by inflammation (swelling),
and if the inflammation (swelling) is gone, so is the pain ?

Do you think that the heat, as you say it helps, helps in some way to reduce the swelling (inflammation) ?

(or is it something different about arthritis that "heat helps" ? )

p.s. the human liver produces substances that always relieve the pain of arthritis if the substances are in sufficient quantity. (if the liver produces enough). It is the world's safest and least toxic and least expensive substance that is proven to relieve pain.

I just took a look on a weather site.

-Fresno's humidity this week will range between 15% to 60%
-Mine will range between 60% and 100% every_single_day

I'd sit out on the patio, too, if I wouldn't have beads of sweat diluting my Chablis.

I have it once before here at assisted living and thought it very different but delicious. Tonight I will have it again with Steamed Long Grain White Rice/ Grilled Squash and Bell Peppers. New York Cheesecake for dessert. spiced chicken.jpg

    I love different cuisines.

I used to go to the curio shops in Old Town Alexandria quite often, and would always hit the Lebanese cafe there. Good stuff.

I haven't had a good prime rib in I don't know how long. I hope you got lots of horseradish with yours...and I mean fresh-grated horseradish, not the "sauce."

I don't know what I'm gonna have. I was all set to make Scallop Gratin (I received my au gratin and ramekin dishes today and ran them through the dishwasher) but could not find crème fraîche in the local stores, so I'm making my own (heavy whipping cream + buttermilk + time). It's a 48 hour process. So I can tell you what's on the menu for Tuesday's supper. And soon after that I'm making a seafood melange (sole, scallops, crab meat and shrimp in a heart-attack cream & cheese sauce.)

I got a slice of leftover pizza in the freezer. Maybe tonight I'll that and a salad.

Well, then you can't have prime rib.

    Please make another choice. ;)
