I got most of my BA in Denver, when it was very pleasant place. Drove through there a couple years ago, and it was a total zoo -- nothing recognizable. Funny, I actually worked for the tiny ad company that produced the CFD brochure/magazine one year. I can still remember typing up content and doing literal cut and paste layout for it.

When we lived here before, I worked for a senior healthcare company just north of downtown Denver. We left Colorado in Oct. 2007, but returned, on a week of vacation, in August 2018. Moved back here in August 2019. There are those that live in northern Colorado, like we do, that actually hate to go to Denver. However, Ft. Collins and the area can sure remind a person of Denver. IOW, how the people here look.

You didn't mention anything here about Cheyenne, Wyoming. Did you live there or what?

Well, I'm aware that this is off topic for this thread, but briefly, Air Force hubs was stationed at FE Warren, between his year on Guam and our year in South Korea, so we lived off base in Cheyenne while there. The little ad agency was right on the street where the CFD parade went by. In other news....I've always liked Ft Collins. Almost went to CSU.

Sorry, D'Ellyn, but not many people here even know about northern Colorado, let alone Wyoming. That's why I asked. CFD and rodeo isn't a very popular subject on this forum.

I've only lived in two apartments in my life.

The first one was in Turkey and was "interesting", to say the least. The landlord had converted the bathroom for us by cementing a commode over the "squatty-potty". You flushed it with a bucket of water. We had a wood-burning water heater, not that it made much difference because we were on the third floor (we had the whole third floor) and water pressure was set at "drool". Heat was with a kerosene stove in the living room that I almost burned the place down with until I learned its quirks. You couldn't drink the water without treating it first and the electricity was nothing to depend on. We survived an earthquake in that one, even though we could see daylight coming through cracks in the walls. We had to live out in a field for three days before we could move back in again. Yep, we actually lived in it even after that.

The second one was one my husband picked out in Detroit. (Never send a man to pick out an apartment.) We were moving there for him to attend Wayne State University to get his Ph.D. and he went on ahead to get set up. "Guess what, honey, I found an affordable apartment close to the university and it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms! You'll really like it!" No, I didn't. It was in a bad neighborhood and the apartment building was full of hookers. It was situated between two establishments that were #1 and #2 on the police blotter. The windows were barred and the door from the kitchen to the tiny balcony was nailed shut securely, not that that stopped anyone from trying to break in. The radiators had two speeds, on and off, so it was either frigid or sahara desert. I cried for the first month we were there. Luckily we were only there for a year before moving to the suburbs.

I was going to start another thread on riding, eastern and western, jumping vs rodeo, but I see it's already been done. I spent many summers as a kid in northern CO and a few at a camp up out of C Springs. Always thought I'd retire there.

If you opened the post, he did reply to you. Since the reply was very rude and offensive, I removed that whole post. The reply was just stuck in the middle of the quote instead of below where it should have properly been. I would have removed a personal attack no matter where it was at, if I found it.

LOL @ the house in Turkey! Holy crap! I thought I lived in some dumps. I think the worst one I was in had tons of roaches and bed bugs I didn't know about till it was too late. Thankfully the druggie in the next complex warned me so I got stuff to tend to the bed and around the house till I could move. Bought all new furniture when I left and left the bug riddled stuff with the apt. They weren't gonna give me back my deposit anyway so I left it in the condition it was in when I moved in. LOL
