What is your most favorite movie that he stars in? There are many movies that he starred in and I can name only a few right off the top of my head. Wasn't he a hotty way back when he starred in "Welcome Back Kotter?" Did he do anything prior to that show, like commercials or guest spots?
I liked him in "Pulp Fiction" and "Michael", those are two that just popped into my head. Will have to take a look at all he's been in...quite a few.
My favorites have to be Grease and Saturday Night Fever ... could watch those two movies over & over. Grease, because it brought back my high school days memories . ... had a personal home town classmate for each character in the movie. Saturday Night Fever .... mostly the music (Bee-Gees) ... still have that album.
Get Shorty, the Boy in the Bubble, Look Who's Talking. Three I've seen and of course the ones Bonnie mentioned. Also Hairspray.
Wow, I thought I was the only Senior in America to use the word "hotty"! LOL We've got the movies: To Paris With Love and Saturday Night Fever. Plus, we've rented a number of movies with him in it. Don't know, prior to 1975, if he was even known. But, from 1975 thru 1979, in Welcome Back , Kotter, he gained a lot of popularity. Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Grease (1978) also put him in the spotlight. Actually, my wife was an "extra" in a movie he did and on the set with him. Unfortunately, the scene she was in with him was cut from the movie.
I also watched "Welcome Back Kotter", Bonnie. John Travolta is not without controversy especially with his belonging to the church of Scientology.
Another thing, the guy sure knew how to Disco dance! Danced like the old, extremely popular dancers, including Patrick Swayze. He done a great job in both Saturday Night Fever and Stayin' Alive.
I hate to be a party pooper..and although I enjoyed grease...at the time..JT has always given me the heeby jeebies...sorry JT Fans , but there's something about him that just doesn't sit well with me..
lol.... Well even way back in the 70's before we all knew about the Scientology I just couldn't get a good feeling about him...he might be perfectly aright, but my instincts are rarely wrong, and he's always given me a feeling there's something not quite right about him..
I enjoyed him as an actor in some films, I never thought too deeply about him. Didn't think he was that great looking and in his later years he did let himself go. Think he got back in shape though.
