In so far as the CBD oil is concerned I am taking what is called Broad Spectrum. It has no THC which is the chemicals in the plant that give you a high and is referred to as Full Spectrum

Since there could be many spiritual, mental, physical, dietary, and medical reasons , nothing can be certain without verification / testing/ but one thing that has helped almost everyone when they took it has been assimilatable magnesium. (magnesium available physiologically). A half to one level teaspoonful in a glass of distilled water 30 minutes prior to resting.
Many people have noted for the first time in years a full nights , restful, sleep. It is very inexpensive also, and non-dangerous.

FWIW: I have severe arthritic pain in both hands/wrists. Meloxicam helps some, but it also raises my blood pressure so I'm only taking a half-dose. I tried using the arthritic gel for 10 days but it made no difference.

So I ordered some CBD softgels on the recommendation of an online friend. He said they were a big help for his hands, but not knees. I've been on them for 8-9 days now, doesn't seem to help -- but I've read that it can take a month or more for them to take effect. Anybody heard this?

I have an appt for an accupunturist in a couple of weeks. That and the CBD oil does seem to work well for some people, not at all for others.

I'll know in a couple of days when I see the doc, but surgery might be down the pike. :( The pain is getting ridiculous.

One of my brothers lives in Oregon with his better half and since it's legal to grow weed over there he and his spouse have been making their own CBC oils. They were nice enough to bring me some salve they made plus some of the liquid drops...and even enough weed to roll a few joints.

I have already told y'all in some older posts that if I ever was in real pain I would like to try some weed for relief before trying the chemical meds. I can tell you the salve works really well on my mild arthritis discomforts and it works well if my calves ache at night and won't let me sleep well. I like knowing that my brother has organically grown and made what I am using. Haven't tried smoking it yet because I haven't had any real pain yet.

Smoke or edibles with THC will make you forget about the pain. But I don't want to be high all the time.

Well then you should get several hours of relief with THC edibles, less time with smoke.

It seems to me it may not really reduce pain, but it directs one's mind elsewhere so you don't think about it the pain. Not sure how one would explain that scientifically, but if it works it works.

Good luck, and post back if you try it. :)

EDIT: What I meant by I did not want to be high all the time: The daily meloxicam pill works 24 hours per day, and I do get some relief with it. To get the same relief with THC, you would end up being high all the time.

I have been experimenting with CBD Oil for two months now just for general health. It has had a calming effect and keeps me relaxed. It can't do any harm so say the medicos. What has your experience been with the oil?

Bought, and today received, both a CBD Topical Cream and CBD Gummies for the daily osteoarthritis achy/nagging pain I get in each shoulder. I made the mistake of ordering a jar of 500mg Citrus Topical Cream, instead of what we have ordered before, which was 500mg Deep Rub Salve. However, did try a little "dab" of the Topical Cream on my left shoulder and it sure seems to be working.

Have never used Gummies before. What we got aren't Gummy Bears, but Gummy Squares. They are each 25mg each, including 2g of sugar, for a total of 20 Gummies in the jar. For the first one, will cut in half, which will be 12 1/2 mg and go from there. For both my shoulder pain and perhaps to help us sleep.

Will let the forum know how the new Gummies work as well as the new Topical Cream.

I was using CBD oil on my arthritic fingers, and taking some internally, for a while but I was never convinced that it was having any positive effects. The actual CBD oil (as opposed to hemp oil) is pretty expensive though, so I quit taking it.

Our jar of Deep Rub Salve cost $90, but, for us, it does last a fairly long time. The Gummy Squares (20) cost $25 for the jar. Now, if the new Gummy Squares help me not to take my VA prescribed 800mg Ibuprofen as much, that would definitely be worth the $25 per jar. But, will have to see.

Sunday will be my first time trying a 1/2 Gummy Square.

I've been taking CBD caps for arthritic pain since around July. Do they work? -- who knows. The acute pain in my hands and wrists had already started to stabilize by that time. And now, in October, it has improved greatly. I am also taking turmeric capsules. Not sure any of that helps at all.

The meloxicam DOES make a big difference but I will probably quit the CBD when they run out in a couple of weeks.

None of this proves anything, except that I know melox is effective because I quit it twice since around June and the acute pain came back in a couple of days.

With no help from any of the doctors I've seen about this since April, after much reading, I've come to the conclusion that I have systemic inflammation. I had tendonitis in my upper leg, rotator cuff pain in both shoulders (which is actually tendonitis), achy legs, and arthritic pain in hands -- these are all inflammations.

But I will run this past him in a few months. He will probably say, "Well sure, that is all correct." Why did I have to figure this out on my own? Why are they only treating the symptoms?

Apparently, diet has a lot to do with chronic inflammation so I've been changing that in the past couple of months in hopes of actually addressing the cause.
