I see where the current Oregon fires, the largest in the USA, and drought are blamed on climate change. This makes me believe that the Oklahoma dust bowl of old was also climate change and caused by the belching and farting stampeding bison being terrified by a few male Indians with spears on horseback. Totally unnecessary behavior, but boys will be boys. SIGH!

How those brave recreational hunters survived all that methane is still a mystery. The dust bowl could have been avoided if the Cheif had just sent a few women to the trading post to buy their meat that was harvested without harming animals.

LOL. You have such a way with words, Faye. Are any of the fires getting close to you?

Thanks! Not yet, most are down in central Oregon but triple-digit days with winds and the severe drought have us on high alert. We have had several small fires but our quick response firefighters had them out before they burned much. Lots of photos and maps online. One is called the Bootleg fire.

It's funny because whenever we have weather that's colder than usual, we're told that this is simply a weather event and that it doesn't disprove global warming, yet every time we have a hot day, a fire, or a storm, we're supposed to believe that it's proof positive of man-made global warming. Of course, there's such a thing as climate change. The climate is always changing, and some people are hurt by it while others benefit.

Is it warm? Is it dry? Of course, it is. It's the middle of July.

Global warmists have given us dates for the end of the world over and over again, which have come and gone, more so than any other doomsday cult, yet there are always people willing to follow their updated theories, even as they almost never admit their past failures.

As I continue to say when we get the ice age that was promised in the 70s then I'll believe the end of the earth by global warming. Until then pffft.

Like with the Dr. Fauci virus and the vaccinations, a large segment of the population will follow the "experts" wherever they might want to take them, however contradictory the message.

When the environmental "experts" are an entitled bartender from New York that doesn't even have a preschoolers understanding of electricity and an old delusional life long politician that was thrown off a hippie commune for running his jaws instead of gardening tools and people believe their totally unscientific fantasies, I fear for the survival of the human race but not from environmental changes, but stupidity.

How arrogant of any human that thinks they have the power to save the earth from a natural cycle. The earth is getting closer to the sun every day. Any more questions on why the earth may be slowing warming?

Do this experiment. Start of big hot fire in a firepit. Get that baby blazing. Walk around it at a distance of 20 feet. Slowly get closer and closer and notice the warmth increasing. Class dismissed.

This thread is about the Oregon fires last summer, but all up and down the west coast, wildfires were blazing out of control, and climate change was what the news was blaming the fires on.
Now, they have arrested one of the arsonists who was starting some of the fires in California, and he turns out to be a college professor, for heaven’s sake !

I remember reading from the Oregon area, (one of the forest service, or some kind of firefighting website/facebook page) last summer, and they had reports of people setting the fires in Oregon, too.
Some of them were set close to the freeway, or other accessible roads, and 4-5 miles apart; so you know that it was not just lighting strikes happening to go down the highways , setting fires.

Here is more information about the arsonist who is being charged with setting some of the California fires. Who knows how many he actually started, but these are the ones that they have enough evidence to charge him with at this point.
