If so, do you have implants, and how many and where. Do you have to use glue to keep them in place? Do they get loose and make you gag? Can you smile with them in? Did you lose your teeth from poor home care, bad dentist, or was it more genetic and unavoidable?

After my implants failed due to poor installation, I opted to go the route with the periodontist oral surgeon and get bone grafting and gum shaping and implants placed accurately. I also opted to pay more for a specialized dentist to do molds and models before the final premium denture in hopes of avoiding my previous denture experience which was a nightmare and led to me seldom wearing them and having to glue them even after the denturist re-fitted them. So far the pre-denture model of the latest fits perfectly and the finals are soon to come. I would advise just gumming it if you cannot afford the best premium dentures and highly qualified specialists.

My teeth aren't real bad, but bad enough. I have two molars that seem to be like the Grand Canyon (hole). No pain, but since I'm taking VA prescription 800 mg ibuprofen on a daily basis, no pain.

If a dentist was to exam my teeth, I wouldn't need dentures, but there would definitely be some work done on them. For now, just have to live with what I've got. Dental insurance ended when my wife left her last job.

So far no appliances but thinking maybe partial since a couple of caps need to go. No way at my age would I even consider implants.I still have 2 wisdom teeth they say is good ,will help hold in partial. So may get the caps pulled and replaced with dentures.
I won't let a dentist pull my teeth only oral surgion. Last time dentist pulled one was a yank yank nightmare.

I still have all my original teeth, even my wisdom teeth. The only issue I've had is with receding gums; I had two gum grafts over my incisors in 2009 or so.

My husband has a whole mouth full of caps and implants. His entire family has terrible luck with their teeth and we have spent a fortune on his mouth over the years.

Can not have dentures, too much bone loss. My top teeth are a permanent partial plate. Had since 2008. I have lots of dental issues. Am battling irritated gums at the moment, along with some other dental issues. I brush and floss religiously, does not help. :(:(

I use upper and lower dentures, held to my gums with Fix-O-Dent dental cement.

I've never had any complaints with their fit and appearance. I can't eat raw apples with them, however.

I think if you cut the apple up you'll be able to eat them raw.(at least it works for me)

I have them but do not wear them as much as I should.
My dad has his teeth out by the time he was 16 or so but I kept most of mine until I was around 65 then I said to heck with it and had them all pulled.

The dentures do not fit as well as they could so I might have to replace them sometime in the future.
Meanwhile, whilst throwing around a few plates at the gym, if I had my dentures in I would probably destroy them from gritting my teeth during a lift and no, a mouthpiece wouldn’t help so it’s best I don’t wear them.

I can eat just about anything without them except nuts and a couple of other things like that so unless I’m going out to someplace where a mouth full of teeth might be appreciated I just do without.

Sure, cutting up a raw apple allows me to eat it just fine!

Well, both of you boys, Al and Hal, are just too motivated. I just eat applesauce so no time wasted in apple cutting. It is called efficiency, but that is a girl thing.

Not, yet but I am going to have partial dentures very soon. Three teeth in a row were pulled a couple of weeks ago, and the dentures should be ready soon. Friday, I'll be going in for the fitting. If there's no problem, I assume that I may have them then. Otherwise, I don't know.

I got my dentures this afternoon. So far, they're pretty comfortable. Eating with them might take some practice, and I talk funny or, at least, I feel like I'm talking funny. So far, there's no pain involved, though.

At 71 next week, the good news is that I have all my teeth (including wisdom teeth) except for 4 crowns.

My mom told me to keep my teeth as long as I can, so that’s what I’m doing. She had issues with false teeth.
