I don't have a bath tub but take a hot shower every morning. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and would love to lay in a hot tub of water. I am very stiff when I wake up and a hot shower is a must to get moving and wake up.
Gosh, you didn’t ask what kind of soap I use when i shower or for that matter, what I wash when I do decide to shower or will those be future topics? I won’t spoil it and I’ll keep those things a secret just in case you do decide to make those inquiries in another thread. Nope, I shower and take steam baths. Don’t care about how good a bubble bath sounds but laying in a bathtub and washing my face in the same water my butt is sitting in just doesn’t trip my trigger.
I take a bath every night and a shower a couple of times a week to wash my hair. I love soaking in a hot tub, and I can't go to bed unless I've bathed.
Since I don't perspire, I don't need to have a clean skin, so a shower every Sunday does it for me. Harry
I take a shower almost every night. Sometimes I will go to bed without a shower, can't get to sleep, so will get up and take one. After that, it's almost automatic sleep. I like taking a bath, but most apartment-size bathtubs are way to short for me. In the two years we've been back here to Colorado, haven't taken a bath yet. We have two bathrooms in our 2-bedroom apartment, but only one has a tub. My wife doesn't like taking a bath at all. But, will definitely take a shower and I can hear her singing Joan Jett's "I Love Rock and Roll" or a Supremes song. Only kidding, she doesn't sing in the shower.
I wish I had options for both a bath and a shower, but we only have a shower, having had the bathtub replaced by a shower shortly after we moved in here. Whenever I am traveling, I always make use of hotel bathtubs because, although I would shower more often than I would bathe, a hot bath is nice sometimes. To answer the question, I nearly always shower before going to bed, and if I am going anywhere during the day, I'll usually shower again before getting ready to go. Also because much of what I do around the yard involves compost, dirt, and stuff, I will shower again whenever I finish whatever I might be doing outside. So, I would say that I shower at least once a day, and about half the time I will shower twice a day. I'll shower at night whether I feel dirty or not because it's easier for me to get to sleep when I am clean, and because I sort of like the way my hair looks after I have slept on it, and combed it out in the morning.
I was under the impression that westerners are hyper-sanitary to our own detriment. I think @Bobby Cole posted something about the infrequency with which Americans used to take baths, with June wedding dates following the annual bath in May. Isn't there a downside to frequent bathing, like washing away our natural body oils?
