I have been pricing oxygen concentrators for past month.I like the Inogen ones or Evenflo. They are not cheap! Up to $4000.00 for the real nice ones. I look ar the under $3000. Our SIL and daughter were looking for land in Georgia but cheapest is half a million plus even that is hard to come by. I rhink he maybe thinking of going smaller. But finding land is hard now.
I sold my house in the suburbs of Washington DC in 2010. It was a 600 ft² house on a little under 1/3 of an acre. It sold for close to $500,000. The new owner then paid to have the house torn down and carted away. THEN they built a new home on it. So you're talking a little over half a million dollars for a 1/3 acre improved lot. At one point I looked to "move up," but could not afford to buy in my own neighborhood. Insane, isn't it?
Whow on the tearing it down but SIL is builder and he sees this all the time. Why not just add on or take away instead of destroying the whole house?
Back in the 60s I delivered the newspaper to that house, and to many of the other ones on the block and in the neighborhood. Over time, every single one of those places had been replaced with a huge new home (I bought my place in the 70s.) Some of the lots had been subdivided. The house next door was even smaller than mine. There was an old bunkhouse at the rear of the lot where the workers from West Virginia would spend the week as they built that neighborhood. I had a hard time selling my place because of the shape of the lot (minimal frontage.) I worked a deal with a developer who was trying to break into the Northern Virginia market. He advertised it as a new home package, using the architectural drawings as though he owned the lot, then we each got our proceeds at settlement. It worked out well, since the lot fit his designs, and he was more motivated than any real estate agent would have been. To keep us on topic (you and I are gonna get each other in trouble)... I had seen them every once in a while in my home up north. There was a family of them here when I moved in. I don't know where they went...maybe country skunks are less human-friendly than city skunks. I wish they were still around...they make for great pest control. And I kinda miss them.
I've probably posted these before somewhere here: Those were up close & personal with my cell phone. As long as I didn't back them up with no retreat, they were fine. They dig up moles, voles and yellow jacket nests.
I've wanted a meerkat ever since the series, Meerkat Manor. How did this guy get one? Can it be legal??? Watching this vid, ownership really looks like a very bad idea.
John I think they are in China or some other Asian nation. I don't know if we can have Meerkats here though.
From a website that leans more towards "What the heck are you thinking???": A different point of view:
I forgot about that movie .We may order them. Ever been to a mule and donky show? If not your missing out on some fun and even beauty. We showed and collected the ribbons to the winners in Chatsworth Georgia about 30 years ago. I love long ears!!!!!
