For those of you who were unaware, today is Friday the 13th. Actually, it's still Friday the 13th if you are aware.

Anyone here a believer in the bad omens this date is supposed to represent? Do you take special precautions? If so, you are in the company of FDR and Stephen King. You all suffer from (or perhaps enjoy) triskaidekaphobia...or paraskevidekatriaphobia (Greek) ...or friggatriskaidekaphobia (Old Norse.)

There is at least one Friday the 13th each year, and there are never more than three.

There is one Friday the 13th this year, one in 2022, two in 2023, two in 2024 (a Leap Year), and one in 2025. The last time there were three was in 2015. The next time there will be three will be in 2026, then again in 2037. If you notice an 11 year cycle when there's 3 in a year, so did I. But the next such occurrence is just 3 years later, in 2040 (a Leap Year.)

    Happy Friday the 13th, all!

Makes me wish I were still drinking. I'll bet it's good. I loved me some chilled Jagermeister.

To me it’s a little laughable but some folks do take the day quite seriously.

One of the sad parts of it is that hundreds of millions of dollars are lost on Friday the 13th due to the fact that superstitious people will stay home that day, avoid work, avoid making any kind of plans such as appointments to a doctor’s office and even scheduling wedding plans on any other day than the 13th.

    Crazy world….
