So, my question would be..........why did Yvonne post what she did. She didn't read what she posted correctly? If Lon tells us, like he already has, that Cranberry was given to a nice home, then Yvonne read what was online wrong. Heck, I don't know! Just another mystery on the SOF to be solved. LOL
Since Lon only had Cranberry a few months, they probably just re-used the same information from before and didn’t update it. I do not think that they would advertise a cat that they have not had for several months; but I guess that it is possible. This is the only explanation I received from Lon. (Snarky , a little , yes ? )
No mystery! I just posted what the current Valley Shelter page says and it is clearly out of date. Go read it yourself and they have a phone number you can call and inquire if Cranberry is indeed there.
I thought that the SOC policy was that PERSONAL MESSAGES be kept personal and private. What the hell is going on here? You can bet your sweet butt I won't ever use the SOC PM feature again.
Who's unhappy? We just want to know, did Cranberry go to a loving family or back to the Shelter. And, obviously, the truth. Bottom Line is this, Lon: Cranberry was your pet and you're the one who decides "keep" or not.
The staff has no ability to access anyone else’s PM’s. Yvonne posted a PM addressed to her personally which is something that’s not only allowed but has been done on a few occasions by different members. It is a member’s option who they wish to share a PM with and in this case, it was the entire membership. Heck, I recall a couple of emails that were sent from one member to another and they got posted for everyone to see.
Ah, but dear Lon. I am quite stoic about your circumstances whereas I am extremely happy about mine. And not to be too “catty”, you’ve had some pretty negative stuff and very unhappy threads in the past so should we have ignored you instead of replying to you?
So the other party involved in the PM has no say. They share something in confidence and then it is made public. That doesn't seem right to me that a PRIVATE message can be shared publically. Thanks for clarifying that this is allowed in this forum. This also confirms what I have suspected that some of my PMs sent in confidence to one person have been shared in PMs to others. As I said no more using the SOC PM system for me.
