Regarding how brazen shoplifting can be tolerated...I was trying to find reference to felons being on the Atlanta P.D. Force and came across articles about felons in my state being given fentanyl test strips upon release. Nice message from the state, huh?

I want to rant about my state, and am sure others have their stories, but won't drag this off-topic. Let's just say that many Democrat politicians are sabotaging our systems, our communities, our cities, our counties, our states, and our nation.

Cody's example was from Oregon (they were taking electrical wire, probably to sell for the estimated $2,000 copper salvage value.) A Lowes employee approached them an asked for their receipt, and a coworker pulled him away saying "It's not worth it." A local police lieutenant said on the record that they would not have been incarcerated anyway because of the risk of them catching COVID in jail.

The article contained reference to a similar incident at T.J. Maxx. The thieves didn't even try to hide what they were doing. It seems that Prop 14 passes several years ago lowering the penalties for shoplifting because some genius decided that "we have too many people in prison."

Now I will rant about Virginia just a little. Our Democrat governor (whose college yearbook page has a guy in blackface standing next to a guy in a Klan outfit) released a bunch of felons just in time for the election, while concurrently asking for an additional $600,000 for the Department of Corrections because he was gonna pass his Gun Control package and anticipated needing those resources to incarcerate all of the instant criminals he was gonna make out of the most honest class of citizen in the state. Put convicted felons back on the street, incarcerate loyal Americans.

The Rule of Law is now used to enable public criminal behaviour and to crucify those who The State fears. Shoplifting is a great thing for The State to ignore, because it's right out there under our noses in our daily lives and tries to make the rest of us take a "Why should I follow the rules?" attitude.

From the FOX article: "Keizer Police Lt. Andrew Copeland noted that in Oregon, many jails aren’t taking offenders such as shoplifters, in order to cut back on their populations during COVID-19."

I agree that the right sheriff can set the tone, but in Oregon, the right sheriff would never get hired. The mayor of Lakeland, Florida (the town in the video) has served on boards of businesses and non-profits (real & effective community organizing, not the profiteering stuff.) You know who your governor is.

I think the mayor in Polk county you mentioned is a good man from what little I know and I didn't know he was also involved in community service .This whole nation needs more men like them, imo. I also like S.Dakota governor too.

This fool must be from out of town, don't want to be hit ,don't spit. Resist arrest is not a good idea either.
