When I turned 60 years old (5 years ago) I decided to retire from voting. After all I had done my duty since I was 18 years old and now it was time to let the younger generation bring in the Government Officials who would lead them into their Future. By this time in my life I also knew that everything in our Government was pretty much "rigged" anyway and that any Candidate I might vote for would only win that seat if the "power behind the scenes" had already set it up that way. And then there was also the fact that there was such "slim pickings" to choose from. Some say "vote for the lessor of two evils" but for me I couldn't cast a vote for any kind of evil at all. The day I would come out of retirement would be the day a Candidate represented my values and inspired me to believe change would be possible.

Now I am watching "Civil War" break out in the Political arena and what is so amazing to me is that this war is against a member of it's own Party. Well maybe that's part of the problem...as the Republican Party does not want to recognize Donald Trump as a member of their Party...much less have him as their Nominee for the Office of the Presidency. The fact that Donald Trump has made it this far inspires me, the fact that the Republican Party has taken up arms and gone to war against a fellow party member inspires me to think about coming out of retirement. But what inspires me most of all is that Donald Trump is inspiring "We the People" as a whole to rebel against a system and a Party that has clearly shown there are "Classes" within that Party who think they don't have to answer to anyone but theirselves. This "Party" has forgotten they serve "We the People" and have for way to long been serving only each other. There is war going on here because Donald Trump is threatening to change their lifestyle and their Party into one that benefits "We the People" and not just "We the Party". I don't like war but I do realize it is sometimes necessary and it is clearly becoming evident that this war is long overdue. After listening to and reading parts of Mitt Romney's speech I clearly heard shots being fired and a call to arms against a member of "We the People" by a member of "We the Party"...and it is evident to me that this war is necessary for the good of "All the People."

And while I may not be called to bear arms in this war...I do feel called to "unretire" and cast my vote come Saturday.

Oh @Babs Hunt , please do! I know it's easy to think it "won't count" but sometimes it's the principle of the thing... and sometimes it really *does* count.

It was never about my vote not counting...it was about having someone to vote for...or in this case...something.

Yes... for a lot of people, that's what it is, though... "Don't like any of the candidates, won't make a difference, why bother?" I've heard that so often.
