My 99 year old next door neighbor contracted COVID 19 and was taken to hospital. She had no symptoms and had received her two vaccine shots. The local health authorities have imposed the quarantine.
I feel so much safer in my house, which is paid for, unvaccinated, without masks, and making my own decisions. I understand that you're not, but I'd be upset if I were paying a lot of money to stay in an assisted living place that orders me around as if I were in a FEMA camp.
If your neighbor had no symptoms, why were they checking her to see if she had covid, @Lon Tanner ? Is everyone getting checked all of the time again like you had to before all the vaccinations happened ?
Because we had two residents and one staff person get COVID our self imposed isolation has been extended. This solitary confinement is no picnic.
The only thing I can say in favor of what they're doing is that setting aside the issues surrounding this thing, it does seem to be particularly hard on your demographic, and you all are packed in their together. I was reading somewhere (was it a meme here?) that 40% of all COVID deaths were in the nursing homes that were forced by local politicians (D) to accept COVID-positive patients.
I haven't felt well for a couple days. No appetite, very stiff, diarrhea. Must stay in my apartment. I have had my two shots.
Good heavens. I hope you feel better soon, Lon. My sister and brother-in-law both had Covid after being vaccinated. They got pretty sick but recovered from it.
Hopefully, those two jabs will insure that you get through the whole thing a little easier than it would be. Prayers that you get well soon Lon.
