Is that ice on your beard? Anyway, after we left central Colorado, 28 miles south of Denver, we spent 1 year in NC and then moved to northeastern Florida for 10 1/2 years. Actually visited Columbia, SC and Lake Murray. Took a week trip back to Colorado and decided to move back, but this time, the northern part. For us, we figured that winter, with it's cold-to-freezing temps, along with snowstorms and blizzards, were much better than the hot/humid, tropical storms/hurricanes we encountered while living in Florida.
I guess whatever anyone post that strikes my interest I will reply even if I don't know anything about it. Talking or in this case writing.
Welcome...don't know what part of south carolina you got settled in... my husband did a lot of bid construction jobs down there... we took the camper and set up with 3 little dogs...
I do not miss that kind of snow, either, @Samual Yoder ! I grew up in north Idaho and lived in both Idaho and Washington for many years, and I have shoveled all of the snow that I want to shovel in this lifetime. After my daughter retired from the military, she stayed in Huntsville, AL, because the jobs are much better here than in Idaho. When I started having the a-fib and heart failure, she asked us to move out here closer to her; so Bobby and I sold everything , bought a little motor home, and came out with what would fit in the camper, and our little dogs. We have been here for almost 15 years now. I like the milder winters, but hate all of the hot and humid summers.
I guess we might be related, Samual. My family was from eastern PA eventually settling near Pittman, PA after wandering a bit in the 1740s and 50s and I have a number of distant relatives named Yoder. Now live in Alaska and can identify with ice on the beard. Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about the tumors.
Congratulations @Samual Yoder! A good answer to a silly irrelevant question and nice responses to an unwarranted religious assault. You will do well on this forum. Damp cold and advanced years don't go together very well IMO. My dad use to say a frozen beard was better than a frozen face. No good on the brain tumors. I have one that is benign and so far it doesn't cause any problem so it will go with me to the crematory. I am also, well almost 71, and ever since I was 53 my brain has appeared to be age 80 on MRIs. It hasn't changed since then so in just 9 years it will be age-appropriate on my MRI. What sweet words those will be from my Neurologist, "Ms. Fox your left-sided brain sag has stayed stable since you were 53, appearing to be age 80, and now at 80 you have finally got it all together." Then I can check that equalizing feat off my bucket list. I am looking forward to a new profile photo of you with a warmer weather look.
Well, some Seniors can handle cold/snowy winter weather and others can't and won't. When we moved back to Colorado, we already knew what weather we were returning to. I use to work for a Senior Healthcare Company in Denver and I was pretty amazed at just how many Seniors do live in the Denver metro area all year long.
