I happened to be in the really big city today with time to kill and came across a Panera Bread location. Man (and Woman), I've not eaten there in such a very long time. I got a cup of onion soup and half of some hot chicken sandwich on a ciabatta roll. It was soooo good. Then I walked around the corned into Subway and got a macadamia chip cookie.
There was a woman sitting in the food court of the hospital telling others about the decadence of the Panera cookie she was eating. That Subway cookie purchase was pure (or impure) impulse, when I went to a different area just to get a bottle of water and happened to spot them.
This is Dave’s Killer Bread, and it is about the healthiest bread in the world, at least for coming out of a grocery store. It comes in quite a few varieties, and also thin-sliced for people who like that. We usually get the green label “21 grains” kind, but also like the yellow “good seeds” one. I looked on their website and it says it is in Oklahoma, but not sure if it is close to where you live. Are you anywhere near Oklahoma City , @Bill Boggs ?
Been on a junk food Kick, had Krafts microwavable cup of mac and cheese, then mini Hersheys bar, and small pack of Reese's Pieces followed by some graham crackers.
A crab cake and some cottage cheese. It was that or a haddock filet. The crab cake won the coin toss.
You're right I shouldn't eat that way I have a sweet tooth, I take after my mother's side of the family they rather have a Hershey bar than a steak.
-Shrimp salad on a croissant -Hot & spicy potato chips I like this home made shrimp salad, but it takes 1/4# of in-shell shrimp to make a decent-sized sandwich (which makes it the same price as any cold cut sub you might go out and buy, but it's not cheap homemade.) I might toss in some crab meat and maybe a couple of minced scallops next time. I looked up a reverse-recipe for the Subway seafood salad and the recipes all call for nothing but imitation crab meat. It sure tastes as though there's more to it than that. At only $4/pound, Krab might be worth trying, either on its own or as an extra ingredient.
Today's lunch was more like a brunch a late breakfast. We ordered from a sandwich shop on the corner of the street where I live. I had bacon, egg and cheese on a roll, with coffee. The egg was a little more runny than I would like but it was edible.
Leftovers, all mixed together. Roughly equal parts pinto beans (cooked with onions), green peas, and rice. Not bad.
