Today I have my first "side effect" from radiation; I have a lump in my throat and it's difficult to swallow. :( I wish they didn't have to radiate my neck (or anywhere else, really). So far my skin isn't red or hurting so I'm happy about that.

A woman in the radiation waiting area this morning showed us her blistered chest and it just looks so horrible; she said the pain is off the chart. Today was her last treatment and she was so happy to be done with it. Now I'm twice as scared as before but hopefully I won't have such severe burning.

Thinking of you today chickadee. Sorry that you’re feeling side effects. Hope you don’t get the blistering and burning.

Ever since I read about your side effects last night I've been thinking about you and praying the side effects stay minimal. No one can predict what future side effects you might have this might be the only one, everybody's different take it day by day, treatment by treatment. The only thought that popped in my head all night is talk to your doctor about what's going on, she might be able to help with your side effect. Stay physically and emotionally strong it'll all be over in a few weeks and your body will start healing any side effects you may have. Stay positive.

Thanks, Tony. My doctor keeps tabs on me; that's the point of the "weekly see" appointment I have with her each Thursday. Also I can call or message her any time I need to ask her a question. I am not one to suffer in silence so if I get any side effects that are intolerable I will definitely speak up. I keep telling myself that when I get through this week I'll be halfway done!!

I hope that you are feeling better these days, too.

Sorry you're still having issues, Tony. Are you going back to the doctor about it?

My very best wishes to your wife for a good outcome on Thursday; I'll be thinking of you both. I know it is nerve-racking.

Yes I'm planning on going back to the doctor. I'm debating whether to try a different doctor. I want to wait till my wife gets done with her testing on Thursday.

Thanks, Bibbi. So far, so good. The lump in my throat thing is annoying but not too awful. Nighty-night.

Beth, I'll be happy for you when it's all behind you.
Sometimes when I'm afraid or hurting I think of women like you and Bibi. I've had some real pain this past couple weeks but know its nothing in comparison, but it seems unbrerable at times still feel quilty thinking I cn complain.
