I have a bad feeling about Lon. I have a feeling he has been hospitalized. If he was just mildly ill and sequestered in his apt he would at least post one of his famous one-liners.

His last post was #3 on this thread and that was Saturday. His last login was Wednesday. That is not typical Alonzo forum behavior.

Wonder if someone could call his Asst. Living and ask about him? Then again, they may, legally, not be able to say.

It's odd that he logged in (yet did not post) on the last day of his isolation (the 20th), and other than an earlier reported loss of appetite, did not mention his symptoms at all. I hope we are worrying for nothing.

I guess we're all confident he's using his real name?

I have messaged the assisted living facility, and asked them if Lon is okay. I am not sure how much information they are allowed to give out, but hopefully, they can let us know whether he is okay or in the hospital.
The last time this happened, and I contacted Oakmont, it turned out to be just a Wifi issue, and Lon (and everyone) could not get on line; so I am hoping that it is again just something simple .
I will let everyone know as soon as I hear b ack from Oakmont.

They messaged back and said they cannot disclose anything, but that he is messaging on facebook, and suggested I contact him there. So, it sounds like Lon is still in his apartment, and maybe just taking one of his semi-frequent forum breaks. In this case, it appears that no news might indeed be good news ?

I just checked Facebook, of which he is part of, and his last post was Oct. 13. He updated the picture of himself and "friends" were asking him if he is over the virus.

And, in case anyone is wondering, you can bring up a person's Facebook page if you are a part of Facebook. You can see what they've posted and who's replied, but, unless you become a "Friend" of theirs, you can't post anything.

My test results are back and I don't have antibodies to the virus.

Didn't @Don Alaska mention that lack of antibodies does not mean that you have not had it, since they may be short-lived? So the only conclusive test result is a positive one, huh?

I fear this stuff shall never cease to be a topic of conversation, for as long as we are permitted to freely converse.

Hmm, interesting. If that were me, I guess I would rather have the antibodies.

Thank you for taking the time to do that. I find it hard to believe that he would get ill the day of (or before) his quarantine was over. That would make no sense to peak in the "just to be safe" buffer.

That's true and is probably why the test isn't often done. It is all a complicated mess and can't be explained here, but no antibodies may mean you have immunity and the titer has not been maintained. The only way to test it would be to expose oneself to Covid and then test the titer a few days afterward to see if it rises. I think I have related my own experience with hepatitis antibodies. My wife maintains her titers for decades but mine disappear in a few weeks but we are both immune to a number of things. I suppose you could get the vaccine and if you get REALLY sick, then you would know you were already immune;). If you do have evidence of titer, then you do have immunity, but absence doesn't prove the opposite.

You might have antibodies to Dr. Fauci's virus from a previous connection with another coronavirus but I would think that something has gone awry if you have had the virus but don't have antibodies to it.
