@Faye Fox - I can honestly say I have never given too much thought about points or any of that other stuff. I just like inter acting with others on here. For me if I focused on all that other, then it would make being my feel if I had to compete against the others and I am not competitive person. Not sure how long ago it was, but I had approached Ken about something similar, he noticed it was over looked and fixed it. That is why I said asking him is best answer I can give. He has a lot to do and I am sure things sometimes get left behind. As for as Likes , Still wish there was another option, as hitting Like when someone is telling about a serious, or horrible incident the word Like is not always workable- for me.
I am amazed at your posts sometimes. I don't respond to all of them nor have I seen everything here. I just swoop into soc read a few things, swoop out. Swoop in again, swoop out. I watch tv the same way. I used to visit my horse bb like that till it went belly up. It is kind of like a mini coffee break. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings by answering or not. One time I was harsh to Lon and regret it every day. I don't often post deep thoughts. only ocassionally I want to share something important to me. I actually see everyone here as mini friendships. I don't need a score. So all I can give you is a hug, if not a status.

Not an obsession John, I have always been one to question things and when something doesn't seem right, I seek answers. Since this forum offers these trophies, it would be nice to know what must be done to obtain them. My first thought is why not just request Ken to dispense these awards that lead to status since most have professed they could care less. It is interesting that most that don't care have achieved the veteran's status. Offering awards or status for achievement is the basis for freedom. It would be easy just to make everyone the same status I.E. socialism with no awards or status for personal achievement. We could all be just members working together with the same idealisms for the good of the forum. Since this is a conservative-oriented forum that allows for more free speech and sharing of ideas on topics including those banned by other forums, I think the trophy system is a good idea, but still think a 2 year time served should be required before a veterans status is achieved. I know many think my questioning why my points add up to more than I have been granted, is petty, but I submit you are missing the point of my posts. I post because I would like more understanding of how the system works and why it SEEMS to work for some different than others. An example would be my questioning my grocery clerk why on the buy 2 and get 2 free sale, when I bought 8 why 4 weren't free. I clerk took me back to show me and once I got on my knees and found the right focus on my Varilux lenses, the fine print did indeed say maximum free is 2. I was wrong and had to pay extra or come back and make a separate purchase. I question things trivial or not. The reason the USA is in the mess that it is in is all the trivial and seemingly insufficient things that were ignored as no big deal or saying the one questioning is making a mountain out of a mole hill. No, the facts are that molehill becomes a mountain, not because it was questioned, but because it was ignored. OK, this is my final post on this subject as I can see no one is even trying to see my point and I am being labeled as petty.
I don't think you are being petty. I, too, have tilted at what others may deem to be windmills, labeled as such not because of what those things are, but because others do not want to be bothered...and my being bothered bothers them. People would rather have a "settled bad answer" than continue on the path in search Truth because they do not know where the path leads. I agree with Giuliani's "Broken Windows" theory and know that when standards are applied in a relativistic manner, we would be better off not having standards in the first place, because they become tools to validate lies. In other words, there aren't many people who really like talking to me, but those who do know I can be trusted. Others wish I would go away...they are in the majority. I hope that's not happening to you here. That's certainly not my intent. Just because this subject is not on my radar screen (although I have been occasionally curious) does not mean that your radar screen is invalid.
May I throw in one more wrench? I felt kind of flattered when I first joined and got my first award. So they do serve a purpose. Maybe getting and keeping members. I am just a bum and live on pretty much nuthin'. So, that is all I need.
I smile when I get a notification that I've hit a different level. And I'm glad there's not one titled "Has No Life."
I think that the awards is something that comes with the website (in this case Zenforo), and it is not something that Ken has installed and likely does not have any control over what is offered or how things are counted. It is a common things with many forums that you get trophies for writing posts and being a member for a certain amount of time, or how many likes that you get, and so forth. I think that to most of us, it is not a big deal, and we just let it happen however it happens. If you are not sure how to see what your trophy points are, just go to your profile page. If you want to see other peoples points; just click on the “members” icon and it has a list of Notable Members, and you can see the amount organized by posts, by likes, most points. To see what trophies are awarded, scroll to the bottom of the forum page, (black on mine) and you should see “quick navigation”. Under that is the “about” page, and in that section is where it explains about points and trophies.
So you want to take the busted clock apart just to see how it works even though you don't care much if it works?
On a personal level, the only things I look at is my own message / like ratio and though it doesn’t affect me in any way shape of form, I look at the number of views on a thread of interest and the placement of a thread on Bing or Google. I’ve been here since day 1 and the only trophy I really want is the one that includes a cup of coffee with it.
I never look at that stuff. The only reason I know I'd received a trophy recently was because I'd received an alert informing me of same. I don't even think about things like that.
I wonder if Ken changed the forum membership status like another XenForo I participate if anyone would notice? That forum gives a New Member status for one post. If they make 10 posts they are a Member. With 100 posts they become a Well Known Member and that is where it ends regardless of the length of time a member or how many posts you make. I bet there would be some unhappiness on this forum if Ken bumped all Supreme, Veteran, and Very Well Known Members, back to Well Known Members. Personally, I like what Ken has set up and I have an idea that most of you do too but perhaps subconsciously. To make this thread of use to newer members wondering how Ken's system works a visit to the help page and trophies section explains it all. @Ken Anderson I have no idea what points are required for a Veterans's status and the consensus seems to think it is 200. Perhaps you can make a page that shows how many points are required to achieve the various levels. New members might find this info helpful in their posting and participation. After all, I am guessing you set up this system to encourage posts that add visibility and quality to the forum. On Aug 31 my points were at 193 which agrees with your trophies page criteria. On Nov. 1 just a few days ago I wasn't awarded 10 points for my birthday. No doubt a glitch in the system but something I was looking forward to. l should be at 203 points.
