Thank you for this post! Even though the sad truth of the situation makes me sadder than I already am.
That is what is happening to us. The government is trying to make everyone live in fear, as that makes people more "pliable" and manageable. I honestly am thankful I don't have children at home that I have to support. I just don't know what I would do.
Bonhoeffer‘s Theory of Stupidity Dietrich Bonhoeffer argued that stupid people are more dangerous than evil ones. This is because while we can protest against or fight evil people, against stupid ones we are defenseless — reasons fall on death ears. Bonhoeffer's famous text, which we slightly edited for this video, serves any free society as a warning of what can happen when certain people gain too much power.
I have long been a fan of Bonhoeffer and read Letters and Papers From Prison more than 50 years ago. I just read a biography of him last year. It is possible that if he hadn't been killed for his beliefs, he may have been lost to history, but sometimes those who die for what they believe are remembered for many years. Thanks for posting that @Joe Riley. It is very appropriate for the times through which we are living.
Shortly after Dr. Fauci released his virus upon the world, I came across an acquaintance who lives here in town. Over the past twenty years, we've been friendly, although we've been more like political allies than friends. I was surprised, at the time, to find that he had been sucked into the narrative, wearing a mask, not wanting to shake hands or get near anyone. I think he wanted to bump elbows or some stupid thing like that, so I just walked away and figured that he had joined the flock of sheep that Dr. Fauci and the rest of the Democrats were gathering together. I felt sorry for him but we weren't particularly friends anyhow, so it was no great loss. Then yesterday, he called and asked if he could come by. It turned out that he was stumping for another political acquaintance with who he didn't know I was already familiar. Although he's not going to win, this guy is running for governor on a campaign that includes opposition to our current governor's political overreaction to the virus. Apparently, the other guy has become disenchanted with Fauci and the rest of the fear-mongers, too. Too many people think they only need to use their brains during the wind-up to an election year. Then, once they've found their man (or woman), they can disengage their brains again and parrot the talking points.
I got my booster today. I'll match intelligence with anybody on here at anytime. And anywhere except "Down the Rabbit Hole."
Two cousins came over yesterday one vaxxed the other not. The one was so proud of being vaxxed and I ask would you do a little experiment and she said yes. I walked over and stuck a magnet on her arm she thought it was quite amusing than I struck a spoon on her arm and she wanted to try it on her sister and nothing happen. we also placed a 10 peso coin and it stuck. After that I took my cell phone and showed her she was transmitting a blue tooth signal. Than I asked her how does all that make you healthier no answer.
On a (slightly) more happy note, after the gov went on TV yesterday telling everybody to mask up, I went to the supermarket today and noticed that most people didn't. People really need to stand up and tell politicians, Fauci and the CDC to pound sand and then stick it where the sun don't shine. They've been totally wrong on the "solutions" to the whole pandemic thing, which is a bit of a scam when you look at the real statistics in comparison to flu outbreaks past.
Whilst the storm of media coverage encircles the earth about the Omicron bug, we find that through all the fear, the proposed shut-downs and a new emphasis on the jab, only one person has verifiably succumbed to the disease and that person lived in the UK.
