Do you have a wall-mounted display non-firing firearm?

We do. It's an Old West Colt 6-Shooter. Looks exactly like the real one used in the Old West. The trigger, hammer and rotating bullet chamber works, but there is a piece of steel in the middle of the barrel. We have it on a display board along with six "real looking" but, fake 45 caliber bullets and a U.S. Marshall Badge (from Gunsmoke). We have it displayed right under our large frame of Old West TV Stars (from way-back when).

None of my firearms are non-firing. Those would be called "clubs."

That being said, I would not invite attention to such things in my home. I might consider it here out in the middle of nowhere, but to do it in an apartment complex is inviting trouble...especially one where the police come by as often as the Good Humor man.

We don't have any fake firearms hanging on walls (or any real ones for that matter.) But we do have this cheesy "decorative item" on a bookcase in the study, in front of the vintage encyclopedias. (Appears to need dusting.)

If the guy's close enough, all he has to do is spit on the flint and you're S.O.L.

Well, our maintenance supervisor has seen it and police have never visited us.

Anyway, there are plenty of Old West display non-firing firearms for sale online. Just like swords and knives.

My concern is that you live in a complex where the police are routinely called to units near yours. It's what those unsavory tenants might be tempted to do when you have a gun hanging on your wall...they don't know it's only a club, and they'll assume you have more.

Elderly couples are already high-profile targets.

One of our daughters bought me a display rack some years ago. I used it for a few years, then thought better of it and put it away.

If nothing else, they need to be protected from the elements...even indoors.

All the thundersticks in the photo are functional. I'm holding the Interarms .45 cal. Thompson Submachine Gun. It fires only in the repeater (semi-auto) mode...not fully automatic.

It always attracts other shooters at the public ranges.

    "Can I fire it, mister?..."

If I could recall the specific threads, I'd go grab them for the guy. But I believe the posts lack mortal context.
