The jury spent a lot of time deliberating in order to get it right and they did, and it won't be long and you’ll see at least some of the jurors on 60 Minutes.
At the end of the day, I do hope Rittenhouse started something. No, not the killing part but the standing up part. Take it all the way back to Ferguson and we see a population of people who ducked behind locked doors and only peaked through curtained windows whilst their cities, towns and businesses were being demolished. Note: After the George Floyd incident and BLM and Antifa were being shipped from town to town, it was only those towns that had a population of fed up and well armed people that were left alone and unscathed. Maybe because people saw one lone person who tried to make a difference and what he had to go through to be free again we’ll see more good citizens standing up. Maybe the next time we’ll have good honest people defending what is right when the evil doers decide to do their handiwork…. or maybe not. After all, somebody might get hurt or even killed defending their home. Yeah, just let em burn it down and stay safe or at least, that’s what the media would have people do just to get a bigger story. Cowards always get the approval from other cowards like the media whilst the brave get their approval from others who have no other motive for what they do other than to do, no matter what it takes, to be free and eventually live in peace.
Yeah, as I said in a prior post, one local commentator said, while we have peaceful demonstrations here, there are never violent ones here as EVERYONE in Alaska has guns. We also have the laws protecting self defense, Constitutional Carry, Castle doctrine and stand your ground laws. We can carry a weapon, open or concealed, everywhere we are legally allowed to be, although there are some allowances for individual businesses to ban guns.
Apparently CNN will be getting new controllers. https://babylonbee.com/news/rittenhouse-sandmann-agree-to-share-joint-custody-of-cnn
BTW, Babylon Bee is a satire site, and not an actual news source. FYI, here's what National Public Radio had to say about the Rittenhouse verdict --- no nonsense or bias, just the objective views of legal experts who've summarized both the defense and the prosecution evidence as it was presented to the jury: . Rittenhouse had a strong self-defense case Prosecutors said that Rittenhouse had put himself in danger through a series of reckless choices: He came to Kenosha during a period of violent and destructive riots; he armed himself with an AR-15-style rifle; he stayed there past curfew and after being separated from his group. They emphasized that he was the only person there to shoot someone. But the law of self-defense in Wisconsin allows someone to use deadly force if they reasonably believe they are in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm. "And if so, he's allowed to use essentially as much force as he thinks is reasonably necessary to stop the threat," said Kim. . . ."I think that anyone who saw the evidence could see that the jury might have a difficult time coming to a unanimous decision that Kyle Rittenhouse wasn't defending himself," said Julius Kim, a defense attorney and former prosecutor based in the Milwaukee area. . Funny thing, there's nothing at all in this article from a 'liberal' news source that would inflame 'leftists' to return to the streets and start rioting. And AP noted that there'd been no unrest since the verdict was announced. That's in contrast to the 'conservative' alt-news sources, which are strongly encouraging their audience to be emboldened by this result and show real force in future protests rather than being 'cowards.' Just saying!
Can you provide links to those sites "shouting for more armed conflict on the streets?" In my limited observation of conflicts in the streets, they have been largely precipitated by liberals, black lives matter, etc. ...burning, looting, etc. Perhaps the "sleeping giant" of the silent majority has finally had enough of that crap. (Political affiliation notwithstanding.) I'll state this again. Kyle had as much right to be there as any of the other protesters, including the felons he killed. No one (except reasonable people) seem to think they did anything wrong. They were not innocent victims in this.
Thanks for that, Janice. I didn't watch any of the trial, except once when they cut into the news during the reading of the jury instructions. This was what CNN reported also, that the jury did a thorough job with what they had. A few said they might have convicted on reckless endangerment, but that was all. I'm more interested in the trial in Brunswick, GA.
Now that trial seems pretty open and shut to me. I watched a bit of it but found it (and the defendant) disgusting.
Yeah, reckless endangerment sounds about right! Involuntary manslaughter might have been taking it a tad too far, and definitely NOT intentional homicide, for which no convincing evidence was shown. I agree that the Brunswick trial is more interesting and worrisome.
I'm not going to debate whether the 'right' or the 'left' is provoking the most conflict in the streets. Each of the conflicting news outlets presents its own distinct 'reality,' with social media algorithms and website structure piling validation on whichever bias the reader already holds. It's a really unfortunate situation, and one that I personally see no way to untangle.
no mention of the fact that his father lived in kenosha or that his grandparents owned the gad station where the dead one was trying too push a burning dumpster.....How thorough was that?
Let’s do a small comparative study shall we? Biden was angry about the verdict but encouraged everyone to protest peacefully. There were apparently quite a few riots across the country with Portland being at the forefront but not a whole lot of anger about the riots are coming from the media at all. Biden isn’t even being blamed for what the rioters did and are doing even though he pretty much told everyone to protest and how he really felt about the verdict even though he schmoozed it over by saying that we have to abide by the jury’s ruling. Now, way back on Jan. 6th we had Donald Trump saying to those who were at the rally to go to the Capital peacefully. There were some incidents but nothing like the riots in Portland yet, those who breached the Capital doors were all terrorists and it was all Trump’s fault. As a matter of comparison, people have been sitting in prison for months awaiting trial and not even offered a lawyer but we have those violent rioters across the United States last night and thus far, I haven’t read where anyone has been arrested. There probably were some arrests but I haven’t read about them yet which shows me the hypocritical concern our media and those in blue state offices really have about liberal left wing protests versus the right. If you’re a conservative you’re a terrorist but if you’re Antifa or BLM or a left winger shop lifter / arsonist then you’re just voicing your want for justice by “mostly peaceful” (gag) protest.
